He reminds me of Lucas 5 years ago. Clearly has a lot of potential and a future- but makes some silly mistakes that he will erase in time. I'm actually surprised more people haven't turned on him more like they did Lucas. He isn't the finished article yet- but he will be good one day. Stags finding their feet now.
Good effort from Mansfield forward there, decent enough save from Jones although didn't look convincing. Need to get a second quickly to really dampen the mood. Good run from Sturridge, unlucky Shelvey couldn't get proper contact.

I think more people havent turned on him because he hasnt played. His centre of gravity is far too high to be effective at tackling.
Think he might be used to a slower tempo where he can have the ball and forwards won't close him down. Unfortunately we all know the Premiership isn't like that so sometimes he gets caught on the ball and ends up giving it away. He's obviously got something about him, played for the National team a few times and was the young player of the tournament in the last Copa America.
He's not been the best, but hes kept the ball, dribbled well and done the simple things. Hardly say he's having a mare - 6/10 so far...
I love they way people are just looking over the wall into the ground. it must get a bit crap sitting in a tree for 2hrs through.
I don't think the pace of the game will matter. When Jamie Carragher can skin you for acceleration something is wrong.
I would like to be wrong about him (as I admit I was at the time about Lucas). He is strong as an ox, and no doubt strong in the air. But there are weaknesses in his game I can't see him fixing. I hope he does that Dirk Kuyt usually did when I called him crap - scores a brace
Happy enough, the pitch combined with the pressing has proven to be difficult. Sturridge looks bright, Shelvey has play Ok, we're just lacking something in the middle at the mo.
