Damiao seems to be gaining speed. Graham Roberts on twitter. "Damio trying hard I'm told today" I'm guessing that means were trying hard for him and not that he's trying hard in a game?
Tottenham Hotspur to bid £15million for Leandro Damiao with Adebayor heading to AFCON. [Sunday Telegraph]
Someone's telling porkies Moorph. £15 and 27 mill euros is quite a difference, and they are the figures being mentioned.
As much as I love Graham Roberts, after he tipped some `Arab investment` in the summer I will take his comments with a pinch of salt.
LOL, I know mate. He was "in bed" with talksport at the time, if i remember correctly. The reference in my signature to "socks" will not change until we see evidence of what they were all blabbing on about!! Bastards. However, he's not the only one. Others who i'm beginning to have respect for on twitter are suggesting that we're working our nuts off to make both Damiao and Moutinho happen. Ade is supposedly going to the ACONS too. It really wouldn't surprise me to see Ade leave permanently, especially after a few of the lads on here were saying that he looked to uninterested yesterday. My opinion is that we'll get Moutinho, but Damiao will be a pre contract agreement for the summer, like Sandro was. levy's gotta actually give AVB someone who he wants at some point!
I'm not sure moutinho is the answer. He's a quality player, don't get me wrong but if you look at where he plays for club and country it isn't in the hole as a no.10. He's a dlp with little flair for goal. For Portugal, who have plenty of quality in the CM position and nothing in the hole he still played CM. I don't think he'd be as incisive as a sneijder style of player who would offer us much more as a means to break down a 'park the bus' team. He'd want to play where Dembele plays and I don't want to break up that midfield pairing of beauty and the beast. Holtby is a good signing in my eyes, creative. Won't see him til summer though. And can also play deeper to allow us to cover Dembele if injured. Moutinho would be an e pensive rotation option. Rather see the money go on a marquee no10 and damiao who looks absolutely quality and an all round package.
David Lammy was banging on about Qatari investment once we moved to the White Elephant so we could put West Ham out of business - at least that's what Google translate came up with when I used their Batshit Insane to English translation... Do the club's lawyers know what defamation and slander are?
Apparently Leandro Damaio is owned by several different parties and our problem is convincing each of them to agree to this deal. Possible things in our favour with this deal are Internacional failed to qualify for the Copa Libertadores and have the highest wage bill in Brazil, so they may be willing to negotiate a deal. I would suspect this deal will be dragging on for a good while yet (if at all). He would be a superb signing if it happens in my opinion.
Not sure about any permanent move away, Roo and just to qualify my comments from yesterday, there were instances when he didn't look up for it and then others when he did. That was the frustrating bit. I highlighted one instance that pretty much summed it up: found great space in the channel and straight through on the keeper, but slowed up almost waiting for the defender to catch him up..... Bizarre!! Maybe just symptomatic of a lack of confidence - but against League One Coventry???? I remember in the summer, we were following the same Twitterers and got most of the business spot on. If we are in the same areas this time, then I am pretty confident of the Moutinho transfer and more confident of Damaiao than in the last window.....
Thats right he is muliti owned, that side of it sounds worse than Tevez, must be a Sth. American thing!
fair enough Relayer. I just have a feeling that Ade will be a gonner, especially if we get Damiao. Both Moutinho and Damiao are going to cost as fortune and we'll be looking to recoup some of that (Hudd and Livermore too), as well as making space on the wage bill.
No wonder they seem uninterested in negotiating if so many people want a piece of the proverbial pie.
Half of it is getting all parties round a table at the same time...found this on the subject. "Spur-of-the-moment Tim Vickery was on the radio the other day and said that Internacional have the biggest wage bill in Brazil and may be looking to offload one or more high-cost players. They are willing to let Leandro go. But the trouble with Leandro is the nature of his ownership: it's a complex third-party arrangement involving a number of people all of whom you have to get round the table to agree a deal. Apparently, disagreement over the valuation of the player among the third-party owners scuppered a deal we were trying to conclude in the summer. If a mad £40m offer comes in, then they'll all sell. But that isn't going to happen. So, it's a matter of waiting for one or more of these owners to come to their senses and take a decent offer. This story may well be an attempt by the agent to push things along. But whether the more ambitious of the owners will budge is another question."
This just in from twitter: Had it confirmed, Lescott to Spurs is done and Dawson could be off to West Ham. ------------------- Can I get a 'FFFFUUUUU'?
