Utterly pointless post. We always get drawn at home in the cups and we always get crap draws (from an excitement ponit of view I mean, personally I don't mind it because it's more winnable than Orient was and I'm not fussed about seeing big clubs in the cup). As well as being the worst cup team ever we must also have the worst draws in the last 5 years or so. If there was a way of measuring crap draws we'd be right up there. As for the replay. The worst has already happened in terms of Derby winning yesterday so our league game against them is already postponed leading to future congestion. With that in mind we might as well win the replay now and fill that weekend with a cup game where no senior players get fatigued or injured.
After the Sheff Weds game could be 16th Feb before next home league game depending on when the Derby game is re-arranged for.
exactly the reason i keep saying id like us to take it a bit more seriously.. bit of luck with the draw and who knows where you can end up, 2nd year in a row weve been handed a great chance of the 5th round..
I don't get why everyone wants us to get knocked out. If we get beat by orient then we would have no game on the 26th. Also it is a winnable tie and that would take us into the 5th round if we could scrape through, I think It will add extra excitement to an already good season.
It'll be knock-down price for entry and a good opportunity to progress. I'd go if we beat l'Orient. Mind you, I hope that annoying back of seat kicking kid who sat behind me yesterday, doesn't.
Didn't see any others. It was just the way you put 'I can see it being...' as though there was some thought put into it when we all know it's completely random.
Potentially some good ones IMO: Oldham vs Liverpool Brighton vs Arsenal Crystal Palace vs Manchester City Brentford vs Chelsea Macclesfield Town vs Wigan Athletic
Four of those are only potentially good because they contain one big team. Those big teams couldn't possibly not play anyone so the draw couldn't be any worse could it?
Good draw if we can get past Orient, good chance of getting to the 5th round. Also a good draw for Orient if they see us off.
However much i think the cup has lot its importance, we are a team with no cups so should really be trying to add a few to the very empty cabinet. It especially annoys me when we lose to **** teams, so we NEED to beat Orient AND Barnsley
I'd rather we took the cup a little more seriously, it really was **** yesterday. We had Quinn on the bench, if we had any desire to progress, he would have come on.
Previous managers have treated both cup competition with the same irreverance, surely over the last ten years we could have progressed a few times to the latter stages without harming our league positons. After all winning games breeds confidences among the players and fans, this constant apathy affects performances and crowds. Four or five changes would of been sufficient with further changes if we had taken a lead. This in no way belittles Orient,Crawley or Macclesfield efforts but surely when they see the team sheet their expectations rise.
