would anyone actually pick Wickham over Fletcher?

I wasn't keen on the lad last season but he has improved so much and he has certainly been on the weights and improved his body strength.

MoN likes to play with 1 upfront as we have seen but would anyone go with Wickham as that man?

I think he is going to be class and far better than our supposed target Graham who if we get him will shove Wickham further down the order IMO and better than Fletcher IMO

I aint saying I would drop Fletcher for Wickham but I wouldn't make Fletcher undroppable but I do think Wickham brings others into the game more than Fletch but they are both very good at what they do.

Obv. there is the option to play them both but when has MoN ever gone with two up top

I'd love to see Wickham and Fletch playing together. Come on Martin , make it happen.

Fletcher has been a revelation this season and the main reason we are not fighting it out with Reading and QPR for bottom spot. To drop him would be foolish at best and downright disgraceful at worst.

However, I don't think we are getting the best out of him as a targetman. Far better to have a player like Wickham as the focal point and play Fletcher in the current Sessegnon role.

Sessegnon is the only debate to be had here and where he plays. Either alongside Catts (when fit) or out wide.

    Mignolet

Bardsley, (£) Juhasz, (£) Samba, Rose

    Sessegnon, Catts, (Loan) Cahill, Johnson

    Fletcher

    Wickham

I think this is a canny side and the following retained:

    Westwood
    JOS
    (£) N’Diaye
    (£) Hoarau
    Gardener
    Vaughan
    McClean
    Colback
    Killgallon
Some young players from youth set up

    Out:
    Ji
    Bramble
    Brown (negotiate a release)
    Campbell
    Meyler
    Mohammady

Fletchers goals return means he stays where he is. Nine goals with very poor service is imo a very good return. With Wickhams help upfront and Sess played wide I believe a lot more chances would be created with most of our players chipping in with a few goals.

Even if MON doesnt play both against WHU he must try it in the replay surely.

I think, or agree, with the thought that Fletcher could be fantastic in the role Sess currently occupies.

Whickham has better attributes for up top as an effective lone striker.

All fit and available I'd go for

    Whickham

    Fletch

    Sess Gardner Catts AJ

    That's what I'd try.

Different horses for different courses. If Wickham lives up to his physical promise I'd be playing him against the likes of stoke given a bit more experience.

It would hurt to drop fletch at the moment.

I like the look of that line up only changes i would make is switch Bardo for Gardner (Bardsley has been shocking when he has played this season) Also i would switch Whickham & Fletch around.

I would love us to sign Samba or if not him Dawson. Or **** it i want both i'll be greedy lol

After Jan I'd love if we were playing:
    Mig
    Gardner/Bardo-New CB-New CB-Rose
    AJ/Sess-Catts-New CM-AJ/Sess
    Fletcher
    Wickham

    (Basically Cest's team)

I would really, really love that, please mon, pleeaseeeeeeeeeeeeee

    CB needs sorting asap

The new additions would probably cost up to £15 million, hopefully ES is willing to spend!

I don't think there'd be any harm in resting Fletch, depending on the oppo.

Unquestionably Connor could be a better option against more physical oppo, although, as we all agree, the smart money is on playing both.

You think it wouldn't hurt to drop fletch? I find that baffling to be honest. He's been our everything in attack. Of course it would hurt?

For me it has got to be both...We were a totally different, and infinitely more effective team when this happened against Bolton..

Really want to know why Cest is baffled by me stating dropping fletcher at this moment in time would hurt the team? Cest I thought you rated him higher than anyone?

Or did you just misunderstand and call me baffling for no reason whatsoever? If so it looks like you charged hard-on first into a brick wall.
