Just reading news-now it seems Manchester utd are undecided on Robbie Brady's future with us, if they are going to let him out on loan again until the end of season then we are favourites to keep him, however it does say another championship club have come in for him so if they want to sell he will go to the highest bidder. Regarding Elmo MON has said if he doesn't get enough players into the Sunderland squad in the January transfer window then he will have to recall him back from Hull City, Is this is way of of bringing some more cash into Sunderland for is own transfer kitty and forcing us to put a bid in?

MON has only said that recalling Elmo is an option, dependant on how well they do in the transfer window. I'm sure they will do fine and we will have Elmo for the rest of the season.
As for Brady, he gets on with most of the team here, most of the Man U lads are his pals, I don't think he'd want to go anywhere else in the Championship IMO. Probably extend his loan till end of season, Man U only extended his contract last season!

I would not worry about Nigel Pearson one bit. Just rumours as always and of course there will be rumours about them.

i also thought Elmos was a season long loan that couldnt be recalled in Jan or had i misunderstood it to mean a season long loan with a recall option in January only ?

Its a bit **** though if City have to wait for MON to get someone in the transfer window before we know where we stand , could leave us running out of time :/

Whats happening with Meyler ? has talks broken down as he was having a medical last i heard , i wonder if AA wanted an apperance clause that Meylers not happy with.

Steve Bruce was very calm about the signings. He just got frustrated when having to talk about Stewart and the performance.

I imagine the Meyler hold up will be to do with a clause that says how much of a pay rise he gets if we are promoted.

These are not our players so you can't argue with their clubs deliberating. Sunderland & Man U don't care about Hull City, they care about their investments & strength of squad. Plus MON will have noted that Elmo has been played well for us and won't be too eager to lose him I'd imagine.

Hopefully we keep Elmo and get Myler signed up early this week and now having agreed a fee with Manchester utd for Robbie Brady we will get personnel terms with him sorted and get him signed up has well

Is it true you've bid 2m+ for Brady?

It appears that way. We normally get decent deals from SAF (Chester, Evans, Dudge, Stewart) so ManU must really rate Brady, if its true.

It seems MON will not do anything on Campbell until he gets players in. I think SB should be looking else where, as it could be another episode of hoping to sign him, then the last minute let down.

In that interview MON also said that nothing had been discussed long term re Elmo when SB & Elmo have both said that a deal is in place if we go up, something definitely doesn't add up

Well I agree, but I guess we should all know by now, that there is a lot of bullshit goes on, managers trying to get the best money for players being sold, agents trying to get their client the best deal, so there is a lot of red herrings put out into the media.

is there any point taking any notice of the managers interviews regarding player transfers?

How many times have we heard a manager say " hes not for sale" only for the player to move a week later? Case of using the media to get the fee wanted etc.

The managers turn into the agents during january lol!!!!

    Lazy journos re-hashing comments:

Elmo - Sunderland are struggling and need new players, why would they let a quality player go when they have no cover?
Meyler - As above, Meyler has said himself there is no problem on the contract front and loves it here. Again, MON has no cover in CM, why release a quality player with no back up plan?
Campbell - Exactly the same, versitile player for Sunderland, on the bench, why give him away when you have no cover??
For the above points just ask Brenden Rodgers if letting a player go without cover is a clever ideal (Carroll???), we will get these players when Sunderland do there business. I expect Meyler early this week, Elmo and Campbell to be signed by end of month (Elmo will stay on loan if the full deal doesnt go through so long as Sunderland have no injury crisis)

Brady - Hard choice for SAF, developing into a cracking player, does he give him till the end of the season look at him in summer and decide if he will make it at Utd, or sell him for a snip at £2m? I think we will get him on a full deal either this window or summer.

I am more concerned about a back up keeper!!!
