He's the lesser of two evils.

It's like choosing Harold Shipman over Fred West.

  5. He may be a smart business man but he doesn't seem give a ****ing about the fans or anyone elses feelings apart from his own.

Whenever he makes a decision that will benifit the club, it will actually be something that will pump the cash back into his wallet.

Those signs all over the stadium shows how much he cares about our feelings towards our home club. He puts his sports direct **** all over the stadium so it looks like a laughing stock to all those visiting on an away trip, and renamed the ground sportsdirect@stjamespark...

He says that the 35 million from the Carroll sale will go on players, but i'll bet my bottom dollar that that will include wages, instead he should pay the players wages himself, and also give us the 35 million all to spend on new players.

He can blow millions down the casino is a matter of minutes, which shows he is not strapped for cash at all, and 35 million is nowt to him.

If he really is a business man, he'll realise that giving Pardew the capital to buy new additions to the squad will help us climb up the table, and each place and perhaps the possibility of European qualification, will earn the club AND himself much more money than being a mid table mediocrity.

If Pardew doesn't get atleast 25 million to spend then it validates my personal belief that Mike Ashley expects big results by the cheapest means. In my opinion, the 35 million should all be spent on players, if we are even to think about Europe.

If Enrique is sold, then i don't mind if Ashley keeps it, but the Carroll money atleast should all be going to the purchase of new players...

    ... and breath. :afro:

  7. And also, it's Derek Llambias that i hate the most really. Atleast Mike Ashley shuts the **** up and doesn't say anything, Llambias, i think, tries to get the fans to hate him.

He slates Alan Shearer, probably the biggest Toon legend ever, and then slates the fans for booing Andy Carroll. Derek Llambias = ****. Mike Ashley = Fat **** but is trying to make up for it.

I was just going to say the same thing! Now we're safe in the top flight for next year and the malevolence towards
Ashley has evaporated. I wonder really if this is down more to the lack of any convincing alternatives rather than
any new found liking for the fat man. At the end of the day (and season) this is the start of the crap spouted out
in the close season (or silly season or whatever) for the journos to peddle their redtop rags.

With NUFC I've now learned over the years to not get shocked by anything that happens here and only believe
anything when I'm witnessing it live on telly!!

We have just become stable, for the first time in a long time, getting a new owner could mess everything up. I think that if we keep our better players and spend £25 million on players we will have a great season next year!

This, why is everyone so sure the next owner would be worse than Ashley? I'd take an unknown replacement in a heartbeat.

For me, yes. It's just a matter of time with Ashley til he has another PR disaster but all this about our finances brings everyone around to him every time. He's just being cheap, it's not like other owners wouldnt have slashed the wage bill in the Championship and the under 26 thing is just common sense (and we brought in Campbell anyway!)

That story is rubbish, though I do think if the club is sold it will come out of the blue like when Man City owners bought the club in 2008.

Stupid comparison imo. Venkys bought Blackburn for a meagre sum compared to what it would cost to buy us. No mugs gonna pay £200 + million and not pump big money into the club. If we get sold it will be too very ambitous and rich people.

I think it could be true, after all does ashley really want to re invest £35 million from the sale of carroll? I doubt it. He'll sell the club knowing he's annoyed and took the mick out of us all, annoyed keegan, made shearer look a fool, sold carroll and pocketed £35 mill, makes perfect (Ashley) sense

I don't care whether he paints SJP sky blue pink, as long as the team is playing well and we have a few decent signings, as you said he's a businessman what better advertising can he get? Can hardly miss the signs and it gets on the telly every month or so on live games.

It's already been said it will include wages, part of the £35M was spent on Tiote's new contract, why would Ashley have to pay the wages himself? Surely the club should not him personally?

How is him throwing more money at the club going to make him money? It would cost more to get us into Europe than he'd see as a return.

Never mind breath, ****ing think. You keep saying he's a businessman, he wants to see a return on his money or at very least doesn't want it to cost him anymore, it's not a business if you have to keep investing more and more money into it, it's a money pit. Why would he keep throwing good money after bad for no return? We're one of the few clubs that are financially viable, it's not something to be scoffed at.

Edit: sorry just realised this was Tash, no wonder it wasn't a thought out argument and just the usual ramblings.

That's from March, so if anything things could have changed since then.
I'm non-plussed either way, I'll judge Ashley in the summer and do believe if an offer of £300million came in, he'd sell before batting an eyelid.
If a takeover is happening, it'll be cloak and dagger until it's sorted as Ashley will surely have learned from his past mistakes when he tried selling the club in the public eye.
