It contains a naughty word, but this is nonetheless one of the funniest true tweets I've ever read. https://twitter.com/martinkelner/status/264045850571964417
Yes, good read but is anyone else irritated by the "London" club tag? We are a Hertfordshire club not a London club, our fanbase is drawn almost exclusively from Herts and Bucks (and wider afield - even Beds) and few fans are from "London" (places like Northwood and Ruislip hardly count as London).
Steady on, Vic. As one who lived in Northwood for 24 years and paid Hillingdon taxes and voted for Ruislip/Northwood MPs and ended up with a London bus pass I'm not sure we "hardly counted" as London.
Finally home after a long day, shame about the result but we were outclassed. We missed a couple of players who could have helped keep control of the ball. Was a pity I didn't get to meet anyone today but my coach only got to the stadium around 20 minutes before kick off.
I live in Northwood and am not on the Hillingdon side, but the Herts side...so i hardly count as London glad you got back safely Sandy, sorry i didn't get to meet you, that was the only downside of an otherwise enjoyable day. The journeys were smooth and effortless, the football...well, yes, we were outclassed, nuff said. The noise from the lower tier was fantastic, though there's a lot of negativity about our support on twitter which i really don't get...other than that..all good fun. Now onto Middlesbrough, looking forward to it!
We parked in the site (that w_y and others) recommended..... took almost an hour to get out of it... .and we didnt actually clear the ehiad stadium area until 6.50.... next year when we are in the prem. I will park differently!
Missed my train up to Manchester, so had to go to Birmingham and change. The Birmingham/Manchester train had a good number of Hornets on it. Still was in the ground before two after a short wander around the city, sea of yellow no City fans in sight and saw the team leave their hotel as well. After the match I was to catch a train at half six but the Etihad is so close to Piccadilly I was on the five thirty train, spoiled by all those happy Bournemouth fans going home, and the train manager (guard to me) even mentioned it. The result was a bit of a bugger though.
A bit of trim of the squad, bring in a back up keeper ( not having a go at young Bond) also another CB, but we need to thin out those who are not going to make a difference in the run in! IMHO
On the face of it, yesterday doesn't look great. Watford lose and Luton win. But, whilst listening to 5 Live, catching the end of the Luton v Wolves game, the commentator said it was a "magnificent scene at Vicarage Road" for this "small club from Hertfordshire".
