On sky sports transfer centre. it says Bolton are close to signing Barnsley strike Craig Davies, pushing Kevin Davies out of the picture, would he be the target man / striker we need just till the end of the season.

Yeah Brownie wanted him, as he'd worked with him before, but that was a few years ago. SB will be looking forward to a player that's got some future in front of him.
Saying that I see Dexter Blackstock may be available from Forest.

So far, we,re getting nowhere with our so called pursuits of the players mentioned on any of the threads on this board, so why not, he is an old fashioned striker who in the short term might do a job for us, similar to Kevin Phillips, we need to get players in, who want to come and play for us and get the deals done quickly.

If the rumours across several boards are to believed, then Brady and Meyler are been chased by other clubs and their offers are or may be better than ours, so we may miss out on both.

Other clubs seem to tie up their deals much quicker than we do, look at the chris wood deal, figure offered, accepted, personal terms agreed, signed and ready to play on new years day, no delays

Going on todays performance, then yes, get new signings in quickly because any injuries to our preferred 11 and we,re in deep trouble, with Aluko and Koren nursing minor injuries and Mclean gone, i can,t see NP and JS getting the goals required to keep us in 2nd place,

I,d prefer us to get all our dealings done quick and then get everyone settled in, rather than wait and then be rushing around in the last few days of the window, because we missed out on our preferred targets, I accept we can bring in loans after the window closes, but who will be willing to part with anybody decent by then and will all the decent players of the quality we want, already be bought or loaned by other clubs.

 

I would suggest that you stop panicking. Steve Bruce has his targets. They are of a certain type and that type is a million miles away from Kevin Davies. There is no point in getting players into the club just on the basis of them coming in quickly, as my earlier post subtly indicated.
