I left just before the end so can't comment on the booing at the end. I did hear some boo when he came on but I wasn't sure if that was a reaction to his introduction or to Jol decision to take off AK. I though he played very well today when he came and was one of our better players. It was by far his best performance for us that I've seen. I was really pleasantly surprised by his contribution today. Rodallega on the other hand was as useless as he usually is!
Up to today's performance I would agreed with you but he played well today when he came on and i think he deserves credit for that. Every other time I've seen him play us he has been very poor though.
He's not great I admit but we were 1 down Kaca had done nothing, we changed the shape went 3 at the back and went all out for the win. Sometimes I cannot understand fans.
How did you think Richardson played yesterday Cravens? Personally I was impressed with him when he came on. I thought it was his best game for us so far.
The booing I don't think was because Kaca went off, I think it was because Frei didn't come on. I think (some of) the crowd saw Richardson coming on as a negative move. Frei of course did come on a few minutes later. Thought Richardson, when he went to left back, did well and combined in some good overlaps with Frei.
Agreed best game so far. Always wanted to get forward and can deliver a cross from the left - something we didn't do all game. Of course delivered the ball for Ruiz to head against the bar had that gone in everyone would have hailed his performance. He did good, a team talk from Jol has hopefully done some good. We slated him after Liverpool - the whole team were poor. I cannot see him playinh LB in the prem but heh Riise looks knackered, Briggs (i was screaming for his chance) looks so dam slow and had a shocker against Blackpool in my view.
Think Richardson had a good game. Till that moment we were no threat from the left side. Briggs is poor and despite my earlier calls to play him can't see him ever becoming first team player unless he decides to work harder.
Jumping somewhat belatedly on this bandwaggon I was also appalled at the booing and also thought Richardson had his best game for us. The fact of the matter is that he's not the best player in the world and he's not the best signing we've ever made but he's our player, Jol must think he can do a job for us and we will see over a longer time than he's been with us so far (especially taking into account injuries) whether he can do that job. I'm not saying I've suddenly become a big fan of his but I'll be interested to see him play at left back again and see if he prove his critics wrong.
Not sure if you read recently, but Jol publicly expressed his disappointment in Richardson, which may mean he no longer rates him.
On his albeit limited display on Saturday, can't see any harm in giving him a go against Wigan - somebody will be needed to stop 'Boycie' doing what he did to us before. Richardson seems better when the ball is coming to him and I reckon he'd be sounder defensively than the out-of-favour/injured Riise and somewhat naiive Briggs.
Now you come to mention it, Bandit, I do remember reading something like that. Jol put him on the bench, however, and then put him on the pitch and perhaps Richardson's performance will have helped overcome that disappointment at least in part. Will be interesting to see how/if he fits into the squad v Wigan
