Well I wish that never happened. Nothing gained, and Fonte out! Oh well, that old cliche, we can concentrate on the......................
I thought De Ridder was okay. He was active, had a couple of nice moves. He gave up the ball a ton, but so did Puncheon. And everyone else. Kind of over the top to pick on a 2nd half sub in a game that was already over and where Saints had been dominated. Were you expecting him to somehow put Saints back in the game?
Thought 5-1 was a touch harsh (that was a very generous penalty award), but the writing was on the wall when they switched off before half-time and never switched back on again. Disappointing stuff.
There's a chappy who has five now, called Rodriguez. Just three less than Lambert... In fact, Rodriguez is our 2nd top scorer.
Oh dear never mind. Utterly pointless competition these days. Its been ruined for years since the Man Utd pull out and Pompey's cheating.
Disappointing, once chelsea scored that first goal we were doomed, they came out with all guns blazing again. Not that bad of a defensive display but they tore us up. Good game for Ba though, 2 goals on his debut
Think he's talking about Steven Davis, still yet to add to his tally after the opening day. This is the worrying thing for me, we look more nervous when we've got a lead or are holding onto a draw than we do when we do when we're losing. We just get pinned in and can't string passes together, the ball keeps coming back and we just shrink further and further back. It's expectable from a side in our situation but we shouldn't fold so easily as we do, we need to get belief and to scratch together a huge defensive effort but it's just not coming and more and more games are slipping away from us. Hope Nigel can get this long out of the player's minds ready for Villa.
He's right-footed, plays at LCB though because Fonte is established at RCB and Yoshida's left foot is better than Fonte's. He will certainly switch to RCB now.
Well the positives are that i think we will be attacking more against villa, still confident on a win
