Steve Howey is a die hard mackem and has no affection for the craas but if you ever heard him talk at the time and since you wouldn't gather that fact as he was the consummate pro.

Danny Graham is a born and bred Mag and he really doesn't like us. If he signed he would just take the piss like all the others have.

This, like ALL other craa supporting players we have had in recent history, will end in tears.

Howey now writes a mag column for both the Sunday Sun & the Ronnie Gill.

My old boss is from Sunderland and know the family well.

Trust me, Steve Howey always has been and always will be die hard mackem.

The fact he still gets asked about NCL and to be part of any reporting team shows how you go about your business with professionalism.

All the craas we have signed couldn't wait to stick the knife in when they left, some even while they were here.

Does anyone know if Steve & his brother Lee ever played against each other in the derby?

Chris Waddle in another example of a die hard SAFC supporter that still continues to have strong links with those up the road

No they didnt mate. That would have been topper.

Remember the pictures of Lee on the coach after promotion singing Lee Howey, Lee Howey, Lee HOwey, me brother is a c**t. Funny as fk.

And when he played for them did he make that a known fact? Can you see the pattern here? Sunderland lads over there keep it shut. Craas over here rub our noses in it. The difference is we have fans that think it will all be okay and that they are pros; then they bend over and just take it up the arse when these barcodes take the piss. Most would rather have a dig at me for saying it than condemn these backstabbing craa charlatans for their actions.

The craas would chase them out of town.

Aye, wonder how that would've turned out.

Incidentally, Chis Waddle not once ever, played against us.
He always had some mysterious niggle.

Great points made about howey & venison (and bracewell not sure where hes from but he still had strong links to Sunderland)

It's the professionalism of the players that shine through

I just think Danny graham is a disaster waiting to happen

Nothing to do with the Newcastle connection for me, he's just not good enough.

Daily Star is now reporting that he is firmly on the barcodes radar.

Would make more sense as a replacement for Ba, although not as prolific.

Wickham potentially is a far, far better player anyway for me.

hope we don't get him and not because he is a die hard newcastle fan but because he is no better than what we have

I would rather play Wickham than Graham and not forgetting about Fletcher

Without doubt this is true. Wickham has galvanised the team in the few chances he has been given this season.

I remember S.Howey getting his windows put out by some yobbo's at Silky. Apparently 2 of these yobbo's mysteriously got a right kicking the next day.

Hope this Graham talk is just that...paper talk.

After watching Whickam and Fletch playing yesterday, I think we need to concentrate much more on other positions. These two are a handful and would trouble the premiers best defences. Our defence is a shambles..needs new faces asap. Cuellar is worse than steve Hetzke for me. What was interesting yesterday was the influence Vaughan had on the game. Man of the match by a country mile for me. I doubt Vaughan will stay, but if we could get a creative midfielder to play along side a fit Catts, with better defenders we have a decent side

And Shack didn't come here saying he was a mag fan did he? In fact he said quite the opposite "I'm not biased when it comes to Newcastle, I don't mind who beats them".

The mags dont talk about the Clown Prince in the same high opinion as we do. Wonder why?
