Relayer we are led to believe that Moutinho is almost done, subject to personal terms - if wages are the issue then exceptions should be made for a marquee player

I think Roo was right the first time in the context of his post, the position players start from, Sandro and Parker will be given the the DM roles 100% of the time. Tbh, even Dembele hasn't shown the vision required for those defence splitting passes Modric used to see, more often than not he plays into feet, imo this is the trait missing atm, along with everything else a playmaker brings.

apparently the personal terms are sorted too. it's literally up to him to make his mind up, as he'll be withdrawing from a CL campaign. (From what I can gather that guy on twitter who seems legit).

Will it be worth his while to join mid season or wait till the summer window and come in then.
My thinking is that how long will it take for him to gel with the established squad, our season might hinge on it.

Also Damiao's agent has speculated that he might move in the summer rather than now- makes sense but I would like the club to say whether they are still interested or not.

    morning notso <ok>

yeah you're right there and it's brilliant we've got that in Dembele. I'd rather be seeing aplayer giving it to feet MOST of the time. Don't know if you saw it, but Sky Sports issued an interesting report on dembele the other day and compared him to other midfielders with a 90%+ pass rate. - http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/15122/8378257/Complete-midfielder-

Modric was great at finding that defence splitting pass, but the trouble with him was that he'd make the wrong decision too many times before getting it right. Modric gave the ball away or got caught in possession a lot, so it's nice to have a player who's the complete opposite and very rarely gives the ball away.

I have always said that I thought modric was overrated. a good player, a very good one in fact, but not a GREAT player. Didn't score enough, went missing in games and got caught in possession too often like i have mentioned. We only got the money we got for him because of this stupid market we're in and levy's fantastic negotiating skills. - and now look how it's been at RM. it doesn't surprise me. Good player, but hyped up by pundits and even he himself thinks he is better than he is.

If we can bring in moutinho, we will have a player capable of many roles in midfield. Primarily box to box, but within his locker he'll be able to aid us defensively, as well as creatively. He, Dembele and Sandro could be frightening in midfield. The 3 will cover so much ground and give us the intelligence and spark when we are facing stubborn opposition.

exactly! maybe he's concerned that we might not be in it next season. it's a catch 22 though, if he joins us, our chances will be even stronger!!

apparently interest in Damiao is still there obviously, but no bid of 24mill, despite reports. I will be amazed if we don't sign a striker if Ade goes to the ACON's though. I get the impression we signed ade permantently because of the transition of manager. There were already players leaving and lots of new faces coming in and the team needed some continuity. I just don't reckon he'd have been AVB's choice.

Agree with your thoughts on Dembele/Modric to a point, but you must consider predictability. If Dembele is known to play more in to feet, then defences know to mark players, when confronted with Modric a defender has to defend spaces aswell as the player. Any side playing how we are atm, needs variety in its attack to break teams down.

I don't normally listen to media speculation, but the Sneijder rumours seem to be getting louder and louder. Don't worry, I am not saying I believe he is coming, but would love it if he did

To the ACON or a transfer? I thought ACON was always up in the air and could be resolved at any point.

The "Kaka to City" tumours were pretty loud a couple of seasons ago - well, in the English media anyway. The Italian press dismissed them out of hand, mainly because Kaka said he wasn't interested.

Transfer, i think. ( unless i've got the wrong end of the stick, which i don't think i have)

    "Adebayor? Is he leaving? :/"
"can't say he will definitely go. But, he is someone that could leave January yes, there is something in this"
"can't see a club big enough for his ego that would want him at the moment."
"difficult deal but maybe someone will take it on. Remember city subsidise part of wages still"

Well again its speculation, but it's from the same source. at the moment he's proven to be the best out there. (that I've found anyway).

it depends who we bring in. Ade did a lot for us last season and we got him on the cheap so it was a good deal. But if the plan is to keep purchasing young up and coming talent and Damiao is that man in this window, then it wouldn't surprise me if Ade went. If we get Moutinho as well, it's likely we'll be playing the 4231 more often and we'll probably be able to get away with out having Ade anyway. (as dempsey can play there in an emergency.)

Our transfers have started very early in this window which is unlike us, especially for a January. I have a feeling that there's still going to be a few surprises yet...
