You misunderstand me. He said that some want it and some don't. he's got that opinion from somewhere and as the only supporters group I'm aware of that have spoken to the Club are the OSC, then i don't think it's unreasonable to assume it's come from them, probably via mr Allam. As i put, I suspect he's making the point to Mr Allam the he (mr Allam) can't rely on the OSC as the voice of core fans.
I'm sure your intentions are good ISTPlT, but rather than defend the position of the OSC, I suggest working at finding out why so few fans want to be associated with them would be more productive for all of us. What has come out from that group in recent times makes them look out of touch and clueless.

Only one person at the OSC speaks to Mr Allam and as you'd imagine with Papa, it sounds like it's more a case of listening than telling him anything ;) I can guarantee that NT isn't making that point because he's a friend of the OSC, but he does want to hear from a broader representation of fans than just one group and rightly so. The new action group which replaces the FLC will of course do just that.

I know you have concerns with the OSC, and I only defend them when I know what you're saying is wrong, but I think in terms of the 'representation of fans' issue which seems to be your primary gripe. The most productive thing for you to do would be to get involved. They're all volunteers and it's not some kind of exclusive club that only 'the usual suspects' can join, they'd appreciate your help and you obviously have something to offer. Choosing to distance yourself from and criticise the OSC just makes it more difficult for them to be representative doesn't it?

I think we're still at cross purposes on the 'where the opinion came from' issue. The last notes of the meeting suggested a different scenario to the Papa just listening. I've made the point several times and the replies did not ease my concern that the OSC bod did not make it very, very clear that he does not represent the bulk of fans and I suspect it is at such meetings Mr Allam formed his view which he has related to the MD.

The question of getting involved with the OSC is a nonsense because it would just be fractious. I'd rather scrap it altogether and start from scratch with a unit that is more representative. They cannot begin to ask questions on behalf of core fans as they've demonstrated time and again they don't understand the issues. I would admit my use of they is sweeping and unfair, but as long as people defend the whole, I can only assume they're missing the key point in that it's supposed to be OUR supporters Club, run for US. At the moment the tail seems to wag the dog(sic).

In my opinion, and as I put earlier, I suspect the new MD is not unaware of core fans views and I'm hoping this is a positive move forward in getting a better voice for fans within the Club.

We're all the same really. Creating little sub-groups to bicker between each other and distance ourselves from is pointless.

What is your involvement with the OCS then ISTPLT ?

A lot of fans want nothing to do with anything that has 'official' in the title

I tell you what, ill take over the OSC and make it super awesome and you will all want to join.

We will have occasional visits to the Hymers Helicopter Pad.
Free Bob Carvers for all members at all meetings.
Drum smash up sessions after losses.
    Run Tiger Travel amazingly well.
Make up secret code names for super secret stuff.
Regular screenings of that game at Wembley.
And I'm open to other suggestions....

All aboard the band wagon :D

I'm only playing Devil's Advocate here but:

Goal music is something the kids would enjoy I suppose. It seems to work at Norwich. It's all about evolving as a club and to bring in new ideas should be embraced. Something that makes us a club different that makes even away supporters want to come and experience.

Good marketing tool, but don't know what music it should be though

I can't think of a worse example than Norwich upon which to model ourselves. Bland, charisma-free and tacky. They fill their ground cos their is **** all else to do in that part of the world, not because they have such good marketing.

Ho can we be different if we reluctantly imitate what other clubs have been doing for years?

Many fans of other clubs envy and admire us cos WE DON'T HAVE MUSIC AFTER GOALS

They ridicule us for Wise Men Say, which I'm delighted to say the club has realised and stopped playing at the start of games. Look how we laugh at tacky songs like Marching On Together.

As a club, City need to think harder and find different ways to enhance the matchday experience.

I'm pessimistic about it as the owners have little feel for our past and don't appear to value football heritage.

The new feeler brought in can't have much history either, which is ultimately what sets apart the proper clubs from the crass tacky ones who have no sense of who they are and who they represent.

You can shove that ****ty half-time 'It's a knockout' game too- a disastrous misjudgement, which appeals to the 'wacky' types.

I think this debate is pretty much over anyway, after the response to his comments, the idea will have been well and truly binned.

    Good.

Changing the subject slightly, even proper clubs like Villa, Everton and Spurs have not been able to resist these self-aggrandizing slogans adorning their grrounds. TO DARE IS TO DREAM at Spurs, THE PEOPLE'S CLUB at Everton etc.

Does it show you're a big club or just one a bit insecure that needs to keep reminding everyone of who you are?
