Here's hoping that NP sends out a decent side tomorrow and not too many fringe players, we could really do with giving Burton a spanking for the humiliation earlier in the season, come on boys...........

tbh, if he did send out the B team and we lost, i wouldn't care, top priority is the league.

If the B team do play and win, let them play the next round.

I agree no point picking up knocks, just use the game to give squad players game time.

We had a decent side in the Capital One cup

Schmeichel, De Laet, Whitbread, St. Ledger, Konchesky, Gallagher, Danns, James, Knockaert, Waghorn, Schlupp

Tommorow we should be looking to rest people like Morgan, De Laet, Konchesky Knockaert and Drinkwater and possibily Nugent as they have all been pretty much ever present. But we need to make sure there is no mistakes like last time

Since that day Gally hasnt been involved since recently, Schlupp hasnt had a look in as a striker, Danns hasnt played and James hasnt been involved much

whoever plays, I just hope that they give 100% that is all we can ask for, and yes on reflection and reading some previous posts, it would be better to concentrate on the league, however the FA Cup would be a nice money spinner for Top and the gang and a welcome boost for the squad players to get some real playing time.

I would be intersted to know if those calling for a weakened team tomorrow are actually going to the game.
Im a sth but ive paid my tenner and i want to see a decent city team out there.
If I wasnt going to the match I would care far less how many players are rested.

Fair point - I'm not going tomorrow - I had already agreed to take my daughter back to Leeds Uni (she has exams next week) - having said that I want us to put out the first team for the following reasons:

    - I'm a firm believer in continuity bringing out the best in players - from my own playing career (admittedly at a much lowere level) when you are winning (and playing well) you can't wait for each game and hate not playing - I would only rest those carrying niggling injuries etc
    - a good cup run boosts the coffers, attendances, form and team morale
    - winning is a habit - win in the cup and you'll carry that confidence forward to the next league game..
    - and finally ............... this is the FA Cup for ***** sake!!!!

Arguments for both sides. Personally I dont care about the FA Cup this year. Am not going tomorrow cos I have already watched us play Burton twice this year, and that was once too often. Anybody who has any kind of niggle needs resting.

I think our reserves should be good enough to beat Burton (famous last words). I personally don't mind seeing a weakened team - it's not a full price fixture so you get what you pay for, and it's a rare chance to see fringe players get a start. Also, matches like this can impact on the rest of the season. Danns' performance in the League Cup seems to led to him being frozen out this season. It can also have the opposite effect, someone may break into the first team with a good performance here. I think it will be interesting, even without the big names.

    Schmeichel
    De Laet Moore Keane Konchesky
    Knockaert James Drinkwater Dyer

I'd like to see Panayiotou get some game time.

Would also like to see players like Wellens, Gallagher and Danns. See if they're good enough to stay or whether their time is up.

Yeah im going. If he rotates players then I dont think people will be upset. Waggy is a fan favourite, Moore the local lad and fan. Bringing in people like Dyer and King isnt really a weakened team as they play more weeks then not

Well I paid £15 for the Keith Weller lounge ( and I am a season ticket holder ) but I still think we should rest some of the squad.A cup run is nice but can be a big distraction. Let the fringe players show us what they can do?

And what if Knockhaert or Wood get an injury that puts them out for the rest of the season? No, I'd definitely prefer us to rest the bigger names.

^ you could say that about any game. Its very unlikely and unlucky. Its more likely to be injury free, win and gather momentum than it is for that to happen. Particularly for Wood to continue in good form.

Yes you could, but this game, in the scheme of things, is unimportant so why risk it?

Id risk it on the basis you should be able to win it, have a full weeks recovery, and use it to gel (wood and nugent), boost morale and gather momentum
