I wouldn't say the Cody deal is dead just yet. We may try to negotiate a buy price, because lets face it, he's not done much since he's been there, and if they loan him out and he doesn't do much where he goes to, he'll be worth zilch next year.

Cody not available to buy only loan so I'm thinking MA will look elsewhere as he's building for next season

Loan with an agreed fee for next season anyway I don't think he would be top of the list for Coventry to keep.

With Coventry's finances the way they are it might not be down to the manager. it was talked about on talksport at lunchtime, apparently they pay £1.3 million rent for the ground and recieve no income from the catering or the on sight casino.

hullgills - I am pleased you picked up on that. I saw a report in the last couple of days ago, that highlighted the debt, I think the response out of the club was the matter is confidential (fair enough). It was probably one of the only reasons I genuinely kept an interest in the situation. I cannot remember but did they not have a deadline of the beginning of January (something like the 2nd). Then to see reports about Cody going on loan, made me think we could be in with a chance. Although I believe Birchall needs to be given opportunity, so do we really need another striker, keeping in mind Weston can fill the role. Add to that Burton and Keds as big front men.

Just on a side note were Coventry going to release their left back?

ps. this was not the original article I saw but it covers the story...http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/s...n-deadline-to-pay-ricoh-arena-debts-?cc=5739#

I sympathies with Coventry but if they iwe the money they owe the money! Any person retig a house would be turfed out if they didn't pay so why should their owner get out of a poor poor business decision?
