And his age. Isn't he 25 now? I still have a lot of faith in Jay. It's a bit of a cheek West Ham having "Academy of Football" pitchside anyway these days. They just sign a load of old wheelchair-merchants wanting one last big pay-day from someone stupid enough to pay OTT.
To be fair I think Joe Cole is an excellent player, as long as he stays healthy he will be a good signing for West Ham. Chamakh.....not so much.
Ha ha WTF are you on about man! You can't just go making stuff up! I always agreed our lead was down to our favourable start and your tough start. I did say however you would probably draw level by Christmas when the situation reversed but that never materialised.
It is a daft comparison because the whole purpose of the signings is completely different. I think Bzzz is just responding to the ridicule of us signing Chamakh when it is certainly no more laughable than taking a £7m punt on a championship striker who is unproven at this level. I actually find neither situation particularly funny. Just different situations - both with pros and cons. As you say, Rodriguez was signed as a fairly young player and is one for the future - although at the age of 23 you have to wonder if he is ever going to get to the required level as he should be an established first teamer and scoring regularly by now. And that's not a dig, just an observation and I would be interested to see what you expect him to achieve. We have a fairly young team and the squad is fairly small. Cole and Chamakh are both completely risk free and give us options and just add more experience to the team. Neither are long term signings but both could be very useful in the immediate present and beyond. We have high expectations for our young attacking players in Hall, Morrison and Elliot Lee so youngsters in that are aren't needed for us.
I said earlier that I think Chamakh will be ok for you. JayRod will be good, his issue has been lack of consecutive games down the middle as Rickie isn't ready to move aside yet. It will happen.
What!!!??? You lot are we're discussing our signings (ridiculing them actually) and I threw in my views. What's wrong with that?
J rod's been unlucky he's a good player. As for WHU, I think Cole is a good signing, also It's nice to see a player move back to their old club when the time is right.
I'd rather take a 'punt on an unoproven Championship striker' than a punt on one who has been proven to be a bit crap.
The Times have reported Harry will match Joleon Lescott's 90 grand a week wages if City release him on a free....hopefully chancing his arm, can't see City letting him go for nothing
I thought Harry had vowed not let the owners pants get pulled down in the transfer window again...adding another £90,000 a week to their wage budget for one player doesn't exactly tie in with this!
Your right he did...but we are talking Harry who has never been associated with transfer shenanigans!!
I'm fairly confident in saying Jay Rodriguez will definitely still be here next season. Oh, and hi there AdamBanana.
Lambert is 30, so someone will fill his boots in the next few years. Rodriguez is a talented player who doesn't get enough credit for it. If you can't see that, I suggest you watch him play.
JRod will not go in the summer. Given more game time he will get better. He's waiting for deadmen's shoes and, sadly for him, Lambert is tough as old boots. Young player, trained to our style, who can only get better...you'd have to pay a lot to replace him.
