if norwich had signed aaron mclean and david mcgoldrick on loan while we were in the championship i'd be questioning what my club are up to and where it is heading. meanwhile, ipswich fans seem happy. strange.
I'm not worried like I say it is a pragmatic approach to get us through to the end of the season and then we can rebuild in the summer. Perfectly sensible
to be honest, leroy lita and sammy clingan are both much better footballers than the two ipswich signed today. sibierski was a pile of ****e though. they were two of our better players. if you want ****e, how about matty pattison, mark fotheringham and david flippin' mooney!
can i ask why you are so delighted that mccarthy is signing loan player after loan player (i believe this is already his fourth), whereas you screamed to anyone who'd listen when jewell did likewise?
Oh FFS you don't read any posts do you! It makes more sense to sign loanees NOW than it did back in the summer when we should have been making permanent signings! Is this concept a bit too complicated for you?
To go back to the original point McClean was actually a good player whilst at POSH but he fell away when he moved to Hull.
are you suggesting that i've been hopelessly wrong on any of the signings you've made which i said were duds then? would be fascinated for you to tell me which ones have proven to be better than i said they would be.
is that why you always have to respond when i post something then? you're not doing a great job of ignoring me... to be honest, you don't like what i say because its not what you want to hear - if i told you your two new signings were great players then you'd be delighted to listen to what i'm saying. i've not lied - i've said it how i see it - both players are lower championship players. they'll fit right in
I respond because I'm bored at work and it helps to pass the time as for the content I don't pay any real attention to it because it's just biased crap most of the time!
its not biased at all! what YOU post about norwich is unquestionably biased. if i've seen a player i'll tell you my view of him - its not my fault your club keep buying mediocre players and duffers. you can hardly claim you've signed some seriously good players in recent years. i also think you'll find i said dj campbell would do well... no arguments from you then, were there...
I think it's fair to say that with the style of football that we play McLean could well be a fantastic player for us. As for signing duds, I can't say our plan of signing superstars whilst Keane was here has done us any favours so the fact that we are signing decent players who are in need of a new challenge from within our league is something that I personally applaud, regardless of what anyone else thinks. Similar to how you probably don't give two hoots about the people who were asking who Grant Holt was when you signed him. Football is a funny business and it is a case of right place right time and it could well work out for us as these two have proven they are not complete duds in the past but have fallen on harder times... ala DJ Campbell and we could be ideally placed to give them that new lease of life.
not sure you could call keane's signings 'superstars' but i take your point! at least with mcgoldrick you've signed a player bang on form. mclean, well, he's not my cup of tea at all. all power but no real footballing ability. he always seems to be out of control on the pitch. as i said right at the top of the thread though, a change of scenery can be a good thing for a footballer sometimes!
I had to laugh listening to talkSHITE this evening, Mick McCarthy won the 'head's gone award' for 1p5wich's 13th loan signing of the season ! Is this a record ? Anyway, what's going to happen next season when all of these loans go back to their parent clubs ? Is this really building for the future? Oh dear, could be another major struggle for the Binners next year. I'd be afraid Warky, very afraid
I think you need to start worrying my friend especially after Newcastle inflict your FIFTH STRAIGHT Defeat!
When we are 3 points or less from safety, then my arse will start nipping. We were always going to struggle over the Christmas period with the fixtures we were dealt. We will be fine Warky old mate, if we can't muster 4 wins and a couple of draws between now and the end of the season then we really don't deserve to stay up. Koo-Pee-Aar had a freak derby result against Chelski and will still go down IMO, as will Reading. There's one place left and I reckon there's more than one team worse than us
