None, really but would be better to pit our wits and talents against a premier league outfit to find out how far we've progressed !
Odd isn't it? I'm going, I can live with getting knocked out, but I'd be pissed off if the team had the same attitude. Is that hypocritical?
a lot. I realize that The Cup has been devalued over time. But for us supporters of a certain age, it was the competition. Last 30K/40K home attendances? For cup games. 2nd, 3rd, 4th replays. I still get nostalgic. so, I have made the choice and I will be making the trek up to Hull tomorrow, but not for the Wendies game next weekend. Bucking the trend here but I still harbor dreams of us making a decent cup run.
Loads. I want us to have a good cup run, see how good we are against prem opposition later on. Don't buy into the fatigue bollocks.
Replays do my tree in. WTF is the point in them, same with extra time. If you cant store in 90 minutes why should you get another 30 minutes to have a go??? Should go straight to penalties... IMO
Obviously give more ****s about the league. But who doesn't love a good cup run. Would also love to see the likes of Proschwitz and Simpson have a good game. See someone else other than Aluko and Koren bag a goal for once.
Would be nice if we got some decent opposition for once. Matches against the likes of Crawley, Macclesfield, Wigan and Leyton Orient aren't what i'd call good draws.
I always look forward to the cup draw if we are in it, i also want to see certain players to judge them in case we get injuries, the problem with games like this is plenty of empty seats and if often feels like a friendly. if we lost i would not like it but i always think we won't win the cup anyway and when your out your not going to get injuries, having said that its great for giving everyone a game and its better than shopping or been sat at home. So Yes i want to win
I want a decent cup run as well. Keep up the momentum, get some more wins to breed confidence, increased TV monies etc. Like a poster said earlier, the FA Cup is the cup. I suspect (or hope) that some of the apathy towards the game is due to the opposition. If we'd drawn a premier league team I doubt many people would be saying they didn't give a **** - they'd be saying we should show we can compete with them.
Agreed. I'm not too bothered about the cup because we have no chance in it and they really pissed me off last season losing to crawley in the manner they did. Plus the Wigan away match when there was sod all people there at the DW really was poor. I'm still off tomorrow mind. Mate says there's been a big queue at the ground all day. Dunno if that's for the cup, league or RL related.
I'm the same. Rather, I can live with being knocked out, but losing would irritate me. I enjoyed the Ipswich game last year in a relaxed, 'nice to see the reserves play and still win comfortably' kind of way. I think we should win but field someone ineligible (Oxley?) so we get knocked out retrospectively and don't have to put up with the fixture congestion.
Thought I'd share this as I know tomorrows ref. He asked if me and a mate wanted to attend as his guest but i cant make it. I told him it was about time we won when he had the whistle! He's ref'd us v Watford and Brentford in the league Cup, disallowed a good goal for offside ay Brentford. This season v Cardiff similar disputed decision. We lost all 3 games away by the same score 2-1 away. Mind you he was 4th official when we beat Arsenal 2-1. I dont bet but with that trend I'd go 2- 1... but a Tigers win, as its Iain's 1st game at the KC.. enjoy and I wish I was going now!
