As long as his attitude is right, I welcome his addition.

Might not be marquee but gives us defensive options, not just CB.

'Arry's looked at him in training for 6 weeks. Didn't have to sign him so must've been impressed enough from what he's seen.

Player knows the score here, so this ain't likely to be a lacklustre mercenary type on top dollar. At 30, ben Haim might have another 4 or 5 years in pro football left in him. That must be some sort of assurance that this is a player likely to give it a real go with us.

If it works out, it'll come as some relief to the owners as well.

    Fingers crossed eh?!

Surprised he's only thirty; wonder why no-one else has come in for him since the summer?

Mahamadou Diarra was without a club for 6 months, and IMO he's a good player

Can't believe we're buying a defender. It's more midfielders we need!!!! :steam:
Where's the CB and striker everyone knows we need????

I guess there was little point in handing him a contract and paying him a wage until he could actually play.

    Ha! Perhaps we're learning?

If he's better than Ferdinand then it's a good thing. I guess there was little excitement at the prospect of Bassong and he's been a success at Norwch

Thanks for that info. Like others I'm surprised he's still only 30. He was decent with Bolton a good few years ago but since then he's seemed very much on the margins wherever he's ended up.

Better nondescript than a Titus Bramble play-alike anyways :)

Mourinho signed him for Chelsea, so he must have some quality. If Harry thinks he can do a job for us that's enough for me...

Good solid pro in my opinion. Not gonna pull up any treees but can be relied upon to do a job.

Wonder who will have to make way for him?

Not a wow signing by any means and cant help wonder why nobody took him from pompey when they dropped down, but Harry knows what he is doing and must be happy enough with him coming in and doing a job. Like a few others, I was surprised he is only 30...lets hope he still has plenty left in the tank and can re-discover the Bolton days!

Do you think Harry will pair him up with Nelsen? I thought the Nelsen & Hill pairing has done well, although clearly lacks some pace...not sure Haim has ever had much pace about him?

I'll be waiting for another CB tbh, Nelsen will be in the starting 11 but I think Hill will go on the bench
