Okay. Here's a bit of left field thinking.

We are looking for some striking options. There have been some names I've never heard of and some I just don't rate but listening to events over in the NW in the last 48 hours, I reckon there could be a short term answer emerging as we talk.

    Mario Balotelli.

I think there isn't a better time to take him till the end of the season. Mancini must be desperate to put distance between them both and the player would revel in being a big fish here and the main man.

We would be able to negotiate a good financial deal too, as City will be eager to put this to bed quickly and let Baliotelli put himself in the shop window for 5 months to maybe sell him in the summer.

We would get a really talented player, who single handedly destroyed Germany in the Euros semi final and he would be highly motivated to stick 2 up at Mancini. I don't think we could lose personally and it would be huge fun for us all. We need a bit of excitement at the sol.

I think a calm head like Martin would be a better influence on the lad and get more response out of him and of course our profile would be sky high.

I mean, tell me truthfully, would you rather have the lad Guidetti on loan, or Super Mario for 5 months?

I think he could be a monster for our club in the run in and a great foil for Fletcher playing behind him.

    Any thoughts?

I just think that underneath the exterior twat front, there lurks a cracking footballer bursting to come out and show his worth.

Yes he has issues and this wouldn't be a permanent move anyway as we couldn't pay those wages but for 5 months where we need a huge shot in the arm to get us up the league, I just feel he could be a really interesting loan deal and would make us a centre piece in the press around the European papers which raises our profile and puts our name into the households of a lot of potentially good acquisitions for the summer.

As a club we are not even on the radar of a lot of agents and players and we need that to change if we are to start and recruit the kinds of players we all want to see. Balotelli is just the kind of player to light up the place and put us on the map and I do think he would absolutely thrive on being the main man here.

He is a brilliant footballer, when he can be ****ed on, I know it's fantasy anyway, but no, I don't think he'd work for us.

Guidietti, when he was at Feyenoord, you watched him and he ALWAYS does it for the TEAM, on his goals compilation, it's amazing how many times he could shoot, but passes to a better placed team mate, how many lost causes he chases to the line and makes something happen.

In short, Guidietti looks hungry to be the best footballer he can be, whereas Mario knows he's good, and couldn't give 2 ****s about it.

Believe me Cest, Guidietti could absolutely light up the crowd.

    Have a little watch.

He carries way too much baggage and i have a feeling he would be a distraction rather than an asset to us. Undoubted talent but he doesn't always use it, not for the team anyway and has already been mentioned, he's aone man band. We don't need that right now.

We need instant impact from a team player, someone who can bring the rest of the team up a notch and as good as Balotelli is, he's not the man for us. I'd take Guidetti though.

See on that Guidietti video, every type of goal. Poachers, made himself, front post, back post, head , feet, even his pens go in a different corner or height everytime.

He looks a real footballer to me.

A lot of pens in there matey so he'd be no ****ing use to use. Lol

I've seen this video a few times when he was first touted Mons and he can score for sure but that's the Dutch league which to be fair isn't the highest standard remember.

That said, this is still only rumour anyway and you would have thought that with a loan deal it would have been done quickly (arranged some weeks ago in all fairness) if true, so I'm not convinced he will be coming anyway.

Not saying he wouldn't be a good signing if he did mind.

I agree on that Cest, but when I watch these videos I'm looking at his touch, awareness, instinct, the natural footballer things that apply to any league.

When you look, he almost entirely plays on instinct, positional play is fantastic, he finds space, and one of the things I notice is, aged 19, him rousing teammates and the crowd.

He looks a natural, born-to-be footballer to me, I'd love to have him here.

No far too risky more likely to be red carded than score goals

First off: Its never going to happen BUT

It would be a genius move. Not only from a football prospective but also for the reputation and image of our club.

We would sell a lot of shirts and gain a lot of new fans from all over the world. If MON could get him performing it would attract us a lot of attention from other players too.

It could all blow up in our face and it might end up disrupting the whole team but sometimes you have to take a risk.
