Alan Pardew quick out of the blocks to pursue Loïc Rémy

Newcastle have met Marseilles’ valuation of Remy, the striker.

Newcastle United have wasted little time in their attempts to replace Demba Ba, having opened transfer talks with Loïc Rémy after meeting Marseilles’ £9.75 million valuation of the France forward.
Ba’s £7.5 million move to Chelsea has yet to be rubber-stamped, but Alan Pardew, the Newcastle manager, is planning for life without the Senegal forward, who has scored 13 goals in the Barclays Premier League this season.
A £5 million deal with Lille to bring in Mathieu Debuchy, the France right back, is expected to go through in the next 24 hours as Pardew seeks to bolster a squad undermined

this is the way to do things. get rid of the outgoing day 2 of the window, have the incoming en route by day 3

i'm impressed

The guy is a beast. Been linked with practically everyone around Europe. Hopefully Joey has put in a good word for us !

Anyone else think Danny Graham could be a decent squad player? Think he'd be relatively cheap, he's not old, he's a Geordie an was on fire last season just a thought

A Gateshead lad, he'd be coming home.

Decent enough player but I've heard he's been linked to Reading and Norwich.

Its crucial that we move fast here

Absolutely right Chippy, not only to be set and ready to push on and start moving up the table, but also to signal that the club has the right degree of ambition to our senior players before they start to wonder if they are at the right club. Hope this helps to reassure the likes of Cabaye, Tiote and Colo, especially considering the talk of a Colo exit.

really excited about loic remy. i remember arsenal were after him a few years back, i think he can play in midfield and on the wing aswell as a striker. which would be perfect as it lets cisse play down the middle where he performs best. the problem with the two dembas playing together was they both preferred the central role i reckon

Funny isn't it. 90% of our transfers are from French clubs oui?
Not complaining here but just pointing it out. The only recent name that isn't is Anita.
And the amount of French speakers is just ... lol... Even Tiote, Bigi(I think), Amouthful etc are French speaking
