I got the plan. Tampa Bay fires cannons after they score. Lets roll with this idea, and release a live tiger into the away section every time we score. Boom. I should be our director of marketing.
Sounds a bit like what the bad guy, in the James Bond film, Thunderball, does with the sharks in the pool when his henchmen fail him.
Bit late to this thread, but **** NO!!!! What next? Fat **** with a drum ? 4 quarters ? Naked cheerleaders ???? please Someone post the link to mail the cock so we can publicise it and share it around facebook twitter.
I recall the time we won promo to Championship - we all wanted to sing and dance and some prat put on some stupid music - crass idiocy.
It was 'Is this the way to Amarillo?' by some obese comic from Bolton. A here-today-gone-tomorrow novelty pop record. A treat for the under 10s and those who were a bit bored by a draw against Swindon. A terrible error of judgement by the club that day.
Here's my guess as to why this has risen. Mr Allam has in the past sought advice from people he (by accident or design) believes represents the fans. In the past that advice has been very different to the views of the majority. I suspect (with no evidence at all) that the possibility of goal music was amongst a number of things discussed at high level, and this is the new MD's way of making the point that better advice needs to be sought on what the majority of fans think. I actually see this as a forward step from our perspective, clipping the OSC wings until they make an effort to perform in a way that represents core fans and creating an environment where core fans views can be considered.
God no, if we have Goal Music, I fear I may cry everytime we score... We can't have this ****ty American style support infecting our sports. Goal music, drums etc is a big no-no. I actually find it embarrassing and funny when I'm at an away game and the goal music comes on.
You clearly do not know about the Chicago Blackhawks. They have the ICE GIRLS!! We need the Grass GIRLS!! They can fix the pitch at half time.
No thank you. It's a stupid idea. I thought the idea of the new MD was to sort out of the comercial side of the football club? This interview today has just proven he should not attempt to improve the football club on the field.
FC do it don't they? I've noticed a few people have mentioned that Norwich are the only club to successfully use goal music. Guess who Mr Thompson grew up watching and are now his 2nd team?
How so you do it successfully? It's ****in irritating just like the stand intros was & drums and the poznan dance are.
It arose because someone sent Humberside a text asking about it (saying please don't), and our MD answered the question (will it be introduced) by saying it would be down to fans to decide because his jb includes improving the matchday experiance for fans by listening to them. Apparently that now constitutes campaigning for it, and is a valid reason for him to be called a no nothing ****, or words to that effect.
I haven't called him names nor have I really noticed anyone saying he's campaigning for it. If anything my post suggests he holds the exact opposite view, but I think a few lessons can be drawn from this that I reckon are positives. Albeit statistically a vociferous minority, I doubt goal music will be on any agendas for the foreseeable future. The MD has learned that he needs to be cuter with the local media, who perhaps innocently in this case, don't have our best interests at heart. I think the Club now know that they really need to engage with fans on a much broader footing. As the only group I'm aware the club has spoken to are representatives of the OSC, I assume that they are the ones mentioned as feeling it might be a good idea, so I assume now the Club will realise that the OSC do not speak for the bulk of fans. If the OSC have anything about them, they'll do some naval gazing and see if they can work out why most fans have so little to do with them. I see all of those as positives.
