If it's a loan deal then it's a no brainer. A gamble that doesn't cost us much if he flops but could reap great rewards if he's a success.
Incredibly excited about the prospect of Gameiro, he had great promise before PSG started spending big. At 25 he's obviously got time to improve. However, as is demonstrated by his stats, he takes a season to settle into a club, so if he were to come here on loan he'd probably on be backup and presumably would be looking at a possible permanent deal at the end of the season.
Gameiro was a big deal in the french league before he moved to PSG. I'd really be excited if this deal happens. He has not completed a single game this season and mostly limited to subs role part due to Ibrahimovic being ahead, but he still managed 5 goals in 12 appearances, and stats say he has actually scored a goal every 76 minutes of league play, with a 38% conversion rate as well, in comparison to 16% of Suarez, that's really not bad. Though in a way we might be having too many forwards, Potentially moving a 11mil signing to the bench, I'd still take him. I think he could be a starter for us, he is an experienced lad and he could play in Right wing as an inside forward. I really think sterling should be moved to the bench, he is good player, with great potential but he's far from being a proper starter for us. And he is just turned 18, he can't be an automatic selection already! it really wouldn't help his growth. I'd love to see a forward line of: Suarez-Sturridge-Gameiro That would be SICK!
i don't think he was ever an option for any one else to be honest. he might just have been stalling to see what his options were, but as no other club have declared interest (to my knowledge?) he will stay. like to have seen what he would have done if another club would have shown interest just to see how the fickle Arsenal fans would have reacted.
I would be happy with Sturridge, Gameiro and Ince - the first 2 players are capable of slotting straight into the first team and providing us with a bit more experience up front. I agree that a Number 10 is a high priority and someone like Holtby would be ideal but I understand that there are a few CL clubs after him as well, which would make it very difficult for us to attact him. Another player I would like is Will Hughes from Derby. Being a Derby lad, I've seen the lad play a few times and I genuinely believe he has potential to become better than Wilshere. I hear rumours that we are scouting him and he is a big LFC fan.
I really do think he is something special. I've seen him play a few times this season, he's only 17 and shows maturity beyond his years. He could be a top player in the future, The best thing about the lad is how calm he is with ball on his feet. I really hope we snatch him up early
I think we all knew but it's official: http://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/latest-news/joe-cole-completes-west-ham-move No more Joe Cole!!
Boooooo! Sturridge, Gameiro and Ince - I'd be happier if drop Ince was dropped from that list I've heard a bit about this Will Hughes and have a few Derby fans who say he's decent but the next Jack Wilshire (hasn't he only just turned twenty? ) is quite a comparison.
Derby lad = Instant Quality I think Ince has a lot of potential and I rate him higher than Zaha who seems to be valued at almost treble. I still don't believe Sterling is good enough to be starting so many games for us yet therefore I think having player like Ince will rotate with him to help keep him fresh and to relieve some pressure. Re. Hughes - he's a very classy player. As Micah says, he is very confident and composed on the ball - almost Suso-esque. Along with Sturridge and potentially Gameiro, I would like another experienced player to join the club (aged 24+).
I've not got an issue against Ince, just think with us having Suso, Shelvey and Sterling we have enough young potential players and need more established players. With the addition of Sturridge, Downing finding some form and Enrique proving to be a versitile asset too, we have options (six or seven for three spots, plus you mentioned Gameiro, big if there but still...) which will allow for those youngsters to get rested when needed anyway. I don't see Ince as a must buy, especially as he was behind Suso and Sterling in the pecking order when he was here. Edit: I forgot about Borini too
Agreed - more experience is needed. The deal for Ince has stalled because Blackpool are after more money but LFC are said to be playing hardball as well and are willing to wait until the summer to sign Ince - which shows that a)Ince isn't a top priority, and b) we're not going to make the same mistakes as we did in previous transfer windows.
Ben Smith (BBC) has said that the Ince deal will happen but the player may need to push for the move.
Not a bad move... We've made our intentions clear with a bid for the player.. We've also made our intentions clear that we value the player at X and no more! So, its up to the Club to accept that (they don't have to..), or the player to force the move by putting in a Transfer request. Hope this continues to send out a message that we will no longer be push overs when it comes to buying players..
