EE 4g is a totally ****ing rip off right now as far as I'm concerned. The stuff they've rolled out isn't that much faster than the fastest stuff on 3g at the moment and costs way, way more. I'm getting a smartphone soon and thinking about going with three; they have the best speeds at 3g i think and for 31 quid a month i believe you can get the new galaxy S3 which is 4g compatible for when they start rolling out 4g too and that contract has unlimited internet; where as EE contracts are 44 quid a month with data caps.
ive a Samsung S3 , on Orange/EE and quite happy with my current data speeds , i mostly use either a wi-fi hotspot for heavier data downloads & for regular browsing what i currently have is good enough , not paying even more
Move you office systems into the cloud. It is far cheaper in the long term. I think it's great. It doesnt cost much to WiFi your office, get rid of all of those nasty cables. Our "new" office does not have anything in it other than desks and chairs with a couple of printers.Our telephone line is pay as you go land line, diverted to our mobiles. The operating system and emails are all cloud based. Our smart phones operate as WiFi hot spots and the printers are wireless. I am just setting up our cloud based desk top for letters etc. We can all work from any location, at a fraction of the cost of running a traditional office. Plus our systems will never be outdated. 3G is as fast as we need it for general use, but we will go 4g later this year.
For some reason I imagine it's still a horrible place to work... Something about all that new technology makes me think it must be filled with blue-sky-thinking type PR people all high fiving and congratulating each other for having the snazziest workspace. I hope for your sake I'm wrong!
Yes spent New Year at home, saw it in down Cranbrook. My Mam does have broadband, so used my HTC as a hot spot and logged on to work without any problems.
I'm backing up all the files on cloud, but I'm not getting rid of all the wiring, I like plugging things in...
I agree, I don't like relying on other people to store my documentation for me, I like knowing if I need it I can get it because it's on my computer and in my paperwork. There's enough things can stop me being able to access my computer, I don't need to double up on that by adding someone else's systems and the lines of communication as things that can go wrong.
To be honest it is nothing more than a place to get our post delivered to and somewhere to meet up. Today for instance, no one has gone in, we are all working from home. We are expanding our business, but looking at a smaller office! I am quite good at this blue sky thinking lark, our place is empty not anything else, it's a good place to store the crimbo decorations though.
i just bought the phone on paygo and swapped to my other contract which is £15pm , - only 250mb but like i say ,i have access to wi-fi most times
That's exactly why we went cloud based. Too many hard drive problems last year. If I buy a new lap top, it does have to have anything other than a browser on it. The saving in not buying MS Office is worth the effort. Printing is the biggest pain that is sorted, we don't have to network the printer, just have it on our wi Fi. Great
Although I love technology, the subject fascinates me and has done since my Atari 130XL and my Philips G7000 video games period, now, I'm afraid it moves to fast for me to keep up. I was quite adept, going to peoples houses and setting up their new fangled VHS or Betamax video recorders. Then when computers started to become commodity items I was there to help out purely as an enthusiast, then it all started to go pear shape for me. From cassette tapes to CD, DVD, satellite, more boxes more connections, then mobile phones. Suddenly Star Trek was becoming reality and now I hear Apple may be bringing out an iWatch at some point this year, yes a videophone on your wrist, Dan Dare anyone? When mobile first appeared I believe all the networks from O2, Vodaphone, Cellnet, Orange were British, and I seem to remember something called Rabbit, but that died away I believe. And so the move to mobile was on its way, now its I this and I that, tablets, 4G, and if you read the techie papers a mobile phone coming from Samsung that rolls up like paper, yes Star Trek has just about arrived, beam me up Scottie
Is there a difference between 4G and 4GEE? I have 4G coverage. It may be 4GEE I dont know **** about such things.
Whilst on the topic of phones, can anyone get a ****ing signal when at the KC? I can't get 2g,3g, or HSDPA or HSDPA+ it says that I have a full signal but nothing will ****ing load. Funnel isn't big enough. On T-mobile or EE as it is now.... just me? Sit in the East.
Ah. Then I think most people here have 4G coverage. I live in the middle of nowhere and I have it. I dont know if it is fast or anything. I dont download much, web pages come up fast enough, but I have nothing to compare it to since I didnt pay any attention to how fast things were when I had 3G coverage.
I'm on 'EE', and when sitting in the East last week I had no connection at all during half time. When I sit in the West, I tend to get a poor/decent signal before the game, and a poor one during HT.
