morning all! (hmm, okay, not anymore, but i'm just getting my act together!). Still with this wretched cough, which has decided to get bad again, in time for Saturday. i'm not impressed! Meanwhile as that is the only thing i have to moan about at the mo, i'll stop moaning and hope you all have a lovely day :)

Good day, if yesterday was glorious sunshine, today it is cloudy and damp. :(

Went walking yesterday on what I was told would be a couple of miles. Turned out to be about six and over some very rough terrain. I have been slowly building up my daily distance, weather allowing, but that was a bit of a shock. Just a toddle around the cave this morning to see if there were any bargains. ;)

    Afternoon all

Back from the dentist with two extra fillings and eighty-odd quid less in the wallet! Still, stopped to buy sea bream on the way home which Mrs H is planning to do something oriental with. Should be easy to chew as well as tasty...

Belated happy new year all, back from the coast and into civilisation today. Had a good break, pulled out a Dorado and four Sail Fish on the coast over two trips so a very happy and fortunately not a sunburnt man.

Hope all is well with you Horns !!

Morning all from a dark West West London - no idea what the weather is like although at 8C it appears to be very mild. No doubt it will rain tomorrow as it always rains in Manchester!

Thanks in advance for the frothy AK.

I know you have probably enjoyed your fish by now, but Mrs CM is Thai and she does a beautiful stuffed sea bream. She stuffs it with lemon grass, galangal, kaffir lime leaves ( fresh not tinned or preserved ) and sometimes a little ginger. Then she steams it or slowly bakes it in foil.
It's great because she prefers to eat the head and bones and doesn't really like the flesh which she gives to me.

Seeing as food seems to be under discussion today, I thought you might like a French headline from the national press.

    "Fusillade dans un fast-food."

When I read that I had a picture of burgers and chips flying around one of the outlets. In fact there was a shoot out at Issy-les-Moulineaux between a man and a woman, with the woman coming off worse. She is in hospital and improving, while the man was caught hiding between parked cars close to the scene. No one quite knows what it was all about yet, but the man is known to the police for drug trafficking.

Thanks, CM...not far off the way we had it, though without the lime leaves. Baked in foil and there were some fresh lime slices in there too. Delicious!

Wow, what a start to the year.

My wife gave birth on New Year's Day! A little bit earner than planned; almost a month in fact. Both are doing very well, currenty asleep together on the sofa.

Some of you beady-eyed Watford residents may even have seen us in today's Watford Observer (also online).
