Yeah absolutely, fingers crossed an' all! Though Levy hasn't let us down much with his signings, it's just been the "non-signings" that gets us a little aggrieved at times.

Holtby is highly rated not, just by English clubs, but by clubs in Italy & Spain also. As his father is English, he has stated his intention to play in the PL instead of elsewhere.
He also fits the profile of what Levy likes to buy. I.e. young with potential and would have resale value.

It could so easily be his agent trying to get clubs to rush their offers for him or just lies since so far there's been no quotes and it's all stemmed from one article in a German paper.

I've not heard of Holtby, there again I didn't follow Schalke's progress in the CL, but his name can't have come up much in any round-ups I watched.

    http://www.schalke04.com/news/singl...to-leave-schalke-04-at-end-of-the-season.html

Following the great news about Klaas-Jan Huntelaar’s contract extension, Schalke 04 have suffered a setback in terms of building the Royal Blues squad: Lewis Holtby has informed the club of his intention to reject the offer of an extension to his contract that runs out on 30 June 2013 and leave Schalke at the end of the current campaign.

“We hoped Lewis would want to stay at FC Schalke 04 beyond the end of the season. But, as with Klaas-Jan, he has taken a personal decision and we respect that,” declared sporting director Horst Heldt. “We are convinced he will continue to give 100 per cent to the last kick of the season to make his contribution to the team’s success.”

That's the link from Schalke's official English site declaring he's definitely leaving as he hasn't signed an extension. The last sentence suggests they'll keep him until the end of the season though, so I highly doubt we'll see him in a Spurs shirt in Jan.

Friedel and Cudicini won't be around long so need replacing, and I;d rather have Butland as back-up than Gomes - having an extra player who falls in with UEFA's Home Grown regulations can't hurt, either.

Apparently the media are trying to connect a non story about Bale and RM and a rehash of us trying to sign Zeki Fryers again.
Obviously a slow day on the TW.

Yep, there you go, classic DM fare feally

"However, Tottenham are expecting to sell Gareth Bale to Real Madrid in the summer and want cover for Benoit Assou-Ekotto. Liege would sell now and a deal could be done for around £3million."

Quite what us apparently selling a winger has to do with us getting in left back cover I don't know. Also IF we sold Bale for £60 odd mill then I'd be seriously pissed if we got in some £3 mill rated LB who has started next to no games for Standard. Surely we'd try and buy a decent LB, like Baines for example, with that kind of cash.

The Ezekiel Fryers story has been doing the rounds for a few weeks now and the Daily Mail seems to think it's a done and dusted deal. Must say I am very surprised at this one as in the summer, we couldn't get out of the deal quickly enough.

This was because there was no way we were going to pay the £6million the tribunal were awarding Man United as compensation for the player, but also because when he spent time training with us, his attitude was reported to be shocking and he behaved all big time charlie all the time.

And we signed Grant Hall for a quarter of that.

    Anyway, we have some movement...

They played Arsenal but I don't remember watching either game, to be honest. On other Tottenham blogs they seem to see him as a more lightweight Dembele with great dribbling skills and decent passing. It's different to how I'd seen him on the Bundesliga highlights, he's tricky but gets knocked off the ball quite easily at times which won't suit the PL initially but then again neither did Modric, who he reminds me of more than Dembele. Eitherway Leverkusen players are the way to go, they inflicted Bayern Munich's first league loss of the season and at the Allianz too.

Thanks SC. It's always maddening to hear about young players who have achieved nothing in the game getting big egos.

Yes, he signed at the end of the summer and is a regular in the under 21 competition.

I tend to not watch goon games I think they might win aswell, happy smiling gooners!...ughhh!

I'm in no position to comment on the player YV, and looking round, no one here is either! the link refers to him as a German international too, again, thats escaped my attention. I certainly refuse to watch Youtube clips... you could make Emile Heskey look a decent player with the right editing! :)

But Heskey is the best player in the world at the moment, far better than that Messi lad... Need proof?

Heskey has never missed a penalty, Messi has
Heskey has 61 caps for England, Messi has 0
Heskey has scored 7 goals for England, Messi has 0
Heskey has scored 100+ goals in the Premier League, Messi has never scored in it
Heskey undoubtedly has a larger cock than Messi
    Heskey is black, Messi isn't
    Heskey's feet are size 15, Messi's are a tiny size 10
    Emile's shots go out for throw-ins, Messi's don't
Heskey's bitch is sexier than Messi's bitch
Heskey misses a lot because he doesn't want to upset the goalkeepers feelings, Messi just scores all the time because he's a twat
Heskey has played in more World Cups than Messi
Emile has played for more clubs than Messi, meaning he is more versatile
Heskey has been bought for bigger transfers fee than Messi ever has
Heskey quite clearly has a better haircut than Messi
Messi played **** in the Champions League Semi Final against Chelsea, Heskey didn't
Heskey has never had a bad game in La Liga, Messi has
Heskey weighs much more than Messi, making him the better man
Heskey's head is infinitely bigger than Messi's
Messi is one ugly little ****, whereas Heskey even gives straight guys a boner
Heskey can play without Xavi and Iniesta
Heskey changes clubs regularly, as he wants to give everyone a chance with his brilliance, Messi just stays at Barcelona
Heskey has better strength, heading accuracy and aggression on FIFA 12 (the only attributes that matter)
Heskey has played more times in the Euro's than Messi
Messi has never made a girl orgasm, Heskey does by simply staring into a womens eyes
Heskey's middle name is 'William Ivanhoe', which is far better and cooler than Messi's middle name 'Andrés'
Heskey has had **** managers such as Alex Mecleish and Steve Bruce, whereas Messi has had Pep Guardiola
Heskey can play at Centre Back, Messi can't
Heskey has more pubic hairs than Messi has goals
Heskey hits his shots into row Z because he's a nice guy and wants to interact with the supporters
Messi earns more than Heskey, meaning he is greedier and therefore a prick

So there you have it, Heskey is indeed, the worlds best player.

True and until a player pulls on a Spurs shirt and performs then we won't know whether he'll be a good signing. With Holtby though, if the rumours are true, he's asking for a lot of money and I'm not so sure he's worth it.
