Does it matter how far Red Bull are behind anyway? They always seem to pull it out of the bag anyway.
It might this year considering Mclaren will be stronger as will Lotus and Ferrari. Starting strongly to the season will be crucial.
La Repubblica says Ferrari's 2013 car will have: Red Bull style exhaust, new diffuser, new rear bodywork: please log in to view this image I don't have time to translate the whole thing.
Although I enjoy the pre-test build up and speculation of the new cars, it does seem like every statement that teams release about their new cars could be copied from a template with either some components or team names swapped out to suit.
joseluisf1 says: According to Italian sources, in Maranello they would be satisfied with the results in the tunnel of the new exhaust/rear/diffuser of the 664 The same sources indicate that they are looking for 'something more' in order to reach Red Bull and McLaren Also Autosprint say the launch date is 2nd February.
Comments from Jose Luis: According to Gazzetta, the first aerodynamic pieces of the 2013 Ferrari will go into production next week Ferrari started working at 100% on the car in November 2013. The basic idea was to solve the defects of F2012 The main objective of the Maranello engineers, was the search for more downforce The F2013 can have a different positioning of radiators with the use of 'innovative' materials for improving the dynamic internal They will use heat-resistant materials also in change and transmission of the 2013 Ferrari. According to Gazzetta, Ferrari and other teams are trying to get the passive open mobile rear wing Also Ferrari have denied the car is to be launched on 2nd February.
looked it up and its a passive double DRS. Double DRS is banned as far as I understand but this is the loophole 'must have' of 2013
Instead of DRS making it work, it works on pressure from the air collected during speed and increases in effect the faster you go. Exhaust DDRS anybody?
If what they (Ferrari) say is true then surely they will miss the first test with the new car. Don't see the point in denying it unless they say they will delay the launch to be ready for the 2nd test.
They want to be the ones to announce it, which they'll do at Wroom...but I'm sure the launch date will be 2nd Feb They'll be there at Jerez:
