... I bring some positivity to the table.

    Sunderland v West Ham
    Wigan v Sunderland
    Sunderland v Swansea
    Reading v Sunderland
    Sunderland v Arsenal
    West Brom v Sunderland
    Sunderland v Fulham
    QPR v Sunderland
    Sunderland v Norwich

Now, isn't this a nice little run of games, theoretically at least?

If we perform through these 9, we could see 17 points IMO. 17 points would make a hell of a difference to the run in.

Agree, we should be aiming for at least 19 points from that.

We've not had a run of games like this in a while, and we must take advantage of it.

There's not a single game in there that is a certain defeat, West Brom & Arsenal are tough, but not games we can't compete in.

I feel a wee bit more optimistic having looked at that.

I think 17 may be a little optimistic but a good benchmark. Our form isn't suggesting that kind of return but if we can get 1 or 2 key players in quickly and they settle and make a contribution then who knows what we could do.

The difference between positivism and reality is often only a straight jacket away.

    Sid's prediction theory:

Sunderland v West Ham 3 pts - they are due a kicking and we shall hammer them (geddit?) one-nil
Wigan v Sunderland 3pts - they are showing the usual late-season form that saves them, but we are a bit of a bogey team for them
Sunderland v Swansea 1 pt - they will pass us off the park, but we can hang on for a jamy point
Reading v Sunderland 1 pt - an easy one for us, which we shall cock up with our usual aplomb
Sunderland v Arsenal 0 pts - we'll have chances, but Wenger is geting them scoring more goals than our defence can keep out (ask the mags :))
West Brom v Sunderland 0 pts - the SAFC train pulls into Bogey Team Central
Sunderland v Fulham 3pts - they are not very good, but neither are we. I sense a tedious (apart from the last 15 mins) one-nil win for us
QPR v Sunderland 1 pt - 'arry will have them up for this one, but they are still not very good
Sunderland v Norwich 1 pt - the sort of game we should be winning and consequently won't. Houghton is doing a good job there and they are well organized

    That's 13 from me...

This is far more like how it will probably actually go down and the points we will put on board. Mind, this would give us 35 points and almost guaranteed safety imo
