Arsenal are considering making a ã20m bid for Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema as a replacement for Nicklas Bendtner. is he really as bad as he come's across? we had a gooner on here a while ago, praising him, would he be worth a try or is he just not worth it.

Does anyone know if his spell at Birmingham was when Bruce was there? He could definately improve with a bit of first team football, depends on his price. I wouldn't be gutted if we signed him.
He was very good before he went to goonland and it makes no sense to me that he is such a flop there. Mind you, he's missed, scuffed and plastered quite a few chances and he still thinks he's the kings dick poor gooners! Someone will buy him for 10m+ and he'll need to take a pay cut? I don't see a motivated player there, in short, do we need to take at kind of risk?
Sorry lads, i just don't rate Bendter in the the slightest. I'll be gutted if we sign him, unless it's for about one hundred grand. I've been well happy with Bruce's signings in the main, but this could be his Tore Andre Flo moment signin Bendtner. Lose Gyan and bring in players like this and we'll have blown our chance at making the big time once again.

Have we not been complaining that our player's/club's lack a winning mentality. I think his ego is one of his plus point's, last thing you need in a striker is a crisis of confidence.

What i meant was he actually thinks he is better than us. I quite like the lad and would take him but i get the feeling he would look down his nose at us.
Ahh, get you now. I am not sure any massive club will come in for him though. It could be that he just want's to go where he can get first team football. Bendtner record this season BTW, in 24 domestic appearences he has scored 9 goals and 8 assists. That's not a bad return for a targetman by anyone's standard's. I'm also guessing that a fair few of them were sub appearences
Bendtner seems to score a few goals but miss some glaring opportunities fairly often. Not for me seen as we'd have to pay a fair bit and his wages would be high.
I remember chatting to a Gooner about him a while back. He told me that Bendtner is not arrogant at all, he is just very confident in his own ability. He's got to be a better proposition than the likes of Fuller, that some of us were keen to see arrive back in January, but is he worth ã15m? not a chance! At ã8m or less I think he would be a good signing for us, because he has a wealth of PL experience, something we may have to wait for from a foreign signing.
He's confident in his own ability which is fine if you are scoring week in week out knocking wonder goals and hat tricks in left right and centre, he is not.
Not interested in "wonder goals", he can score with his arse for all I care, as long as the ball hits the back of the net How many "wonder goals" did darren Bent score? He can't score week in week out when he doesn't play week in week out. He just doesn't suit Arsenals style of play IMO, which is why he has made 17 sub appearances in all competions this season, with only 14 starts that were mainly in FA & League cup matches.
In his 10 cup starts he has 7 goals and 5 assists. I'm not saying he is worth 15m, he's definately worth a punt at a reasonable price though.
They're really good stats for the cup games, but ã15m is a joke. At half the price I would sign him on the spot
