Joey Barton was reportedly a victim of a burglary over the festive period. Barton was hosting a zoo-themed party for son Cassius nearby, and it is thought the thieves chose to hit the house as they knew he would be out at the time, reports The Sun. The burglars broke windows to break into the house, and also smashed his son's Christmas toys before making away with a family safe. A source said: "Joey had been staying over Christmas and it's likely the thieves knew he was there. "He was tweeting pictures from the party while the robbery was in progress. They couldn't believe the state of the place when they got home." Joey Barton made no comment about the burglary as he made his way back to France yesterday (January 2). He recently threatened to sue the Daily Mail over an article stating that he should come out as gay.
