I always thought 'orient'ating' was a descriptive term for West Ham fans. ;)

And then there are the businessmen & political commentators who talk about 'secetrees' - another pet hate.......

and while we're at it, why does my daughter insist on calling New Year's Eve...New Years. New Year's apparently, but it sounds so wrong!

True but then going by the comments Charlton fans have made they'd hate it too...

In the US, certainly the part where I lived and worked, you 'orient' in the present and were then 'oriented'; never got used to that. Also never quite got the hang of 'acclimating' to become 'acclimated'.
It took me a while to stop saying " Hey, whats going on" as hello when I came back to the UK as this doesn't work with the stand offish British but it's good to see the prolific use of 'yay' on this channel.... if only by the young people!

"Yeah, nah, so I like turned around and went"
"So, you agreed, disagreed, then simulated turning you back and leaving?"
"Nah, let me like finish, know woh I mean like."
    "Continue..."
"Yeah, nah, what I like mean is ta say, like yuh know, so like I turned around and went like "you bitch"."
"So you really just wanted to call someone something nasty?"
"Uh, like yeah, duh!! Chillax, gramps."

This might mean something far, far away in a galaxy called T-nagegurrl.

'Twas ever thus, zen. On the bright side, they mostly do grow out of it - unless, of course, they move to Essex. ;)
