Rangers ready to offload unsettled Cisse please log in to view this image 03/01/2013 by David McIntyre Lille have made an enquiry about Djibril Cisse, who is likely to leave QPR this month. The French striker, 31, has been unsettled at Loftus Road for some time and the club have long been preparing for his possible January exit. Rangers will listen to offers for Cisse if they are able to sign at least one forward during the transfer window and Bobby Zamora progresses in his recovery from a hip problem. More clubs are expected to express an interest in Cisse once it is clear he will be allowed to leave. He has scored 10 goals in 28 appearances since joining the Râs from Lazio a year ago. http://www.westlondonsport.com/qpr/rangers-ready-to-offload-unsettled-cisse?
What do we make of this? Should we look to get rid? Or do we think he can do for us this year what he did last, save our ****.
It was great to see his reaction on the bench behind Harry when we scored last night, and again on the pitch at the end of the game with SWP. I wish he could have shown as much enthusiasm on the pitch in the last few weeks.
If Harry can help him get his head together, I would keep. Let's not forget his off pitch challenges with his relationoship breakdown. Mega high stress. Perhaps he does need a complete change in order to get his head together and move on from all of that. Pity as we were all hoping to see him terrorise some defences this season which just has not happened.
Plus he's dating billionaire retail magnate Phillip greens daughter who is London based so might not be in a hurry to leave anyway. Would Lille match the wages we're paying?
All depends if he's willing to pull his socks up and work for the team. Totally different player last season.
If he wants to go, let him go. If we wants to stay and keep us up, we shouldn't let him go. Then again, if Defoe signs.........
Hope he stays. We are not exactly overloaded with strikers, he is really the only one we have and we need 4. His celebraton for the goal and at the end confirm where his heart is.
If his heart isn't in the fight it would be foolish to keep him on as a passenger. We need fighters, and I regret to say he hasn't shown a lot of fight so far this season.
Better than 1 goal every 3 games record with us. Can we replace him with someone with that kind of goal scoring record?
Wasn't it you who said people in the paddock were giving him crap v Liverpool? And SWP gets it every game. They may deserve it (although Cisse deserves a decent pass or two as well), but there has to be a point where the abuse makes them hate playing at home. Was SWPs non celebration last night to 'respect' his ex club or to show his feelings about the fans of his current one? Probably the former but I wouldn't entirely blame him if its the latter. We need fighters who will battle out of self respect and allegiance to their colleagues (except in a very small minority of cases I don't believe this 'for the shirt' bollocks applies to professional footballers). Fans are within their rights to vent whatever feelings they want (within the law) on here and in the stadium. But it may be counterproductive if it alienates players sick of abuse, and adds to their anxiety whenever they play.
He is our only fit centre forward, it would be mad to let him go now. Showed passion for his team yesterday even though he did not play..
Great post Silvio. Totally agree. It looks to me like SWP has worked harder than anyone in our shirt this season, including Mackie, looks like our most improved player, and really deserved his goal last night. Have only seen long highlights from last night, but he was certainly a contender for MOM for me, and for me noone else is more deserving of our support than him.
Yes mate, I did report he was getting 'berated' by a few in the paddock last week ( not from me can I add 'cos I don't know if it particularly helps or if it hinders the player). Look back at my posts (to Swords mostly) and that's pretty plain to see that I don't agree with it. I can see the fans frustration though. And as for SWP's non celebration.....personally I took that as being out of respect to a former club of his, but I might be wrong.
Sorry to say Jock, but I still don't rate SWP - he tries his little heart out and I don't dislike him personally or blame him, but he has never, in his entire career, been completely in control of the ball - I just don't think the abuse helps in any way.
Wasn't implying that you were hurling the abuse Staines! I think you are right re the celebration, but equally why would you celebrate for people who have been pouring scorn on you for months? Bit of stick helped Barton temporarily last year, but I doubt SWP has the same psychological profile......
I don't think anyone has ever question'd how hard SWP works but the quality he produces, does this one goal forgive for the rest of his performance ? With the euphoria of the win still buzzing around, maybe it does but after it dies off probably not. Can he turn it around, again maybe, he definably had the ability and still works hard will be interesting to see.
Trouble is thats more passion than he ever showed on the pitch, Id replace him depending on who we could get in.
