20mill?! We're in no position to play hardball thanks to the inept PR team at Liverpool. Everyone knows we don't want Carroll and he'll never play in this system. We even loaned him out rather than keeping him as a backup. Carroll wants out too so he can play regularly at a top team (no offense west ham). We'll be offered 12mill and that's as good as we'll get if we're lucky.
Well it looks like with Sturridge in and Cole out that we have taken another £30k per week off the wage bill, which will be offset if Ince comes in If Sahin goes out ( 60k a week ), which if posible, it is ESSENTIAL in my eyes that a number 10 must come in, lots being linked Holtby, Sneijder (v unlikely due to wages),Belhanda,Eriksen,Benat. IMO we need the number 10 NOW, there will be a lot less options in the summer
Theres supposed to be interest in Coates from from Serie A ( couple of clubs which Juve is 1 ) and also Santos in Brazil, theres rumours of Coates both being sold OR loaned for 6 months .So it could be Coates straight out OR Coates loan for 6 months, we buy a CB to replace him, and then bring back Coates at end of season when Carra retires The 3 CBs we seem to be linked with are Mirin (Valencienne,France ) Diakate ( Lazio) De Vrij ( Feyenoord )
it's still paying him a years wages of an 18 month contract to essentially play for someone else. that's pretty bad business. could you really not sell him?
I think it's bad how little Coates has been used to be honest. I know Agger-Skrtel is a solid partnership but even Carragher seemed ahead of the lad.
Ive heard its £3m, if he stayed he would earn £7m up to end of June 2014.So we are saving £4m long term
That's not the point. The 3mill is what we owe him, if we sell him or not, because of the signing on fee we offered him since he was on a free transfer. We're not obliged to give him a lump sum of his remaining wages, but are are legally obliged to pay off his signing on fee. 3mill to get rid and save 4mill long term on a player no one would pay money for (given his huge wages) is a good deal.
Both PSG and Newcastle both sniffin around him too, agree hes probably quicker than any CB we have at the mo, technically good and good defender too
BR:"There is nothing in the pipeline. It was never going to be a busy month for us and there are not too many players available who could come in and help and improve what we're doing." "we're not going to spend money needlessly but there is no doubt over the coming months we need to strengthen the squad." "That will come with time"
Looks like we've learnt from our mistakes in previous transfer windows. We've saved a few million on Sturridge, getting the business done early, keeping quiet over targets and we're not bowing down to Blackpool over Ince.
Sounds good but its nothing new, we've made these noises before. In fact, we said similar before splashing thirty-five million Now, lets go and blow £40m+ on Neymar!
We will DEFO make more transfers this window Sounds like we are taking a leaf out of Fergies book who proclaimed to the media 6 weeks ago Yernited wont be doing business this window, however according to very reliable sources, Yernited apparently bid for Zaha from CP last night
Glad to see the back of this money grabbing shyster. 1249: FOOTBALL LATESTWest Ham have completed the signing of Joe Cole from Liverpool, says talkSPORT. please log in to view this image They claim Cole, 31, has agreed a two-and-a-half year contract at Upton Park, on around £30,000 a-week, with Liverpool paying him £50,000 a week for the remaining 18-months of his deal at Anfield.
Will be made up when this has been made official but not happy that we are going to pay him 50.000£ a week for the next 18 months Like you said he's a money grabber who done sod all for us
