    Dubbed is being ridiculous.

Gervinho has a good first touch actually. He's quick, athletic and runs past defenders with ease. If he was playing for a mid table club there would be a lot of fans on here calling for us to sign him.

In many way he reminds me of Eboue. Great athlete, decent technique but lacks the mentality to really make it at the top level.

He's not a bad player to have in our squad. Not even remotely as bad as many are making out.

He seems to excel at that <ok>

Gervinho needs to improve his game, but he's got enough in him to be an effective player for us. It's more about form for him at the moment than skill. Hopefully this ACN will be the reverse of the last one and he'll come back in great form.

You're right about the analogy with teams lower down the league, if he was playing for one of them people would be calling for us to sign him up. I've often thought this would be the case with Ramsey too if he were playing for somebody like Wigan or Reading - we'd be falling over ourselves to sign him.

if you watch gervinho occasionally, u will think he's rubbish, mainly because when he runs with the ball he looks like he's kicking and chasing, like a 3 year old. but if u watch him a lot u realise that he brings a lot to the team

Could be, comments like this got me curious:

    "I like Demba Ba, yes,"
"If you ask me 'do we sign Demba Ba?' I say no."
"I don't think [this] is the right place to speak about that, because he plays against us [on Saturday]."
"I wouldn't like to put Newcastle or us or him in an uncomfortable position."

Apart from the second comment, you'd think he was interested.

The 3rd and 4th comments sound like: "If you'd asked me any other time, I'd say possibly, but since you're asking me before we play Newcastle, I'll say no"

Here's hoping. Come on Arsene, you know it makes sense to sign him.

Good player and all that, but the people around him sound like a bunch of ****s. If we get him, how long before he kicks up a fuss and is looking to **** off?

    He's off to Chelsea. :).

Why would Arsenal ever go for a proven quality striker in the EPL? Nah, not our style, always let our rivals get the better players, let's settle on ANOTHER continental striker who will take time to adapt.

I wouldn't bet on us signing a striker. How about another unproven winger?

Nah, we will probably buy a striker, and play him out of position and convert him into a very ineffective winger, aka Arshavin and Podolski.

A lot of rumours link us to Adrian Lopez, the guy had a good season last year for Athletico, but I'm not convinced by him, he's another basic cheap option. Ba would've been the real deal, not Lopez.

Seeing as he will cost more than Ba he is not really a 'cheap' option especially when you compare him to Ba. I like Lopez, I thought he was excellent for Madrid last season, and he reminds of Villa in many ways. I think he would be a very good player to have and he will be perfect to play on the left side of the front three. He can cut in and get goals.

If anyone looks at Lopez' stats from the Spanish league, it is very very average, I'd even say poor, no idea why we're looking at him. 7 league goals last season, 4 the previous, and 3 before that. But not surprising, a very typical Arsenal signing, always going for average players, Lopez will not be the player that takes us to the next level, contrary to some excitement surrounding his signature, he is not the world class striker we are crying for.
