Only 'a real dope' would fail at Chelsea, says Harry Redknapp

What sort of comment is that? <doh>

Management of a large club with more player more egos more expectation more pressure more media attention, compared to QPR where it would not be unexpected if Arry is a championship manager next year. QPR a no risk job..

Arry taking the QPR job is like coming on in a game where your team are already losing 6 0. no pressure<ok>

  4. It was a silly thing for Redknapp to say, for sure. When I first saw that headline, I thought he was having a pop at RDM.

In the interview, Redknapp says the following:-

"Since I've been here... I think they [the QPR players] were all looking to blame each other for the horrendous start," he said, "but most have been fine and worked hard."

That sentence doesn't make sense! On the one hand "all" were looking to blame one another, but on the other hand "most" were fine. "All" would include "most," so what he's saying is complete nonsense.

One of the things that I absolutely do not miss about Redknapp is his ability to use the media to cause discontent at the club he's supposed to be managing, and always with the aim of making himself look good at the expense of others, but casting blame everywhere but in his own direction.

As luckywerthers said, no one told Redknapp to go to QPR. Presumably, he did so, because his massive ego convinced him that he could save their season; and now that the realisation has been forced on him that he may not be up to the task, he's starting to use his media tricks to ensure that all of the blame falls on QPR and not him. In many ways, the man is a snake, and I am glad we got rid.

Of course it makes sense. They were all blaming each other, but now most are working hard and trying their best. What's difficult about that? The headline is just him saying it is easier to manage a club when you have players of the ability that Chelsea have. Not controversial.

I honestly thought that he was being complimentary about the strength of our players.

Stupid comment by a stupid person to be fair. You get the gist of what he was saying but it came out wrong.

Arry started to believe his own hype at Spurs and got too big for his boots hence why they sacked him, he's now taken on a difficult task at QPR and clearly us struggling under the pressure.

I won't say how (publically) but I know for a fact that Arry was always interested in the Chelsea job even when at Spurs which probably explains his bitterness towards Benitez at getting the job. Unlike Hodgson, Benitez never was or is his friend so he clearly didn't pull any punches.
