http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...tml?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490 Stoke striker Michael Owen hit back at Twitter trolls who were abusing him on the social network site by posting a picture of his personal trophy cabinet. The abuse started after Owen wrote: âTough game today and not many teams get anything away at Man City. Shame our 10 game unbeaten run in the Premier League is over. #Stokeâ And that prompted many of his followers to reply to the striker â who has been out injured â to ask what he had done to contribute to Stokeâs run and why he was not playing. Owen, who has made just four appearances for the Potters this season, then Tweeted: âNew Year but things never change. About 100 replies to my last tweet so far and every single one is abusive. What a lovely world we live in. âTweet something like that and then you see the nicer side of Twitter. The minority always ruin it for genuinely decent people.â He then followed up with a picture of his trophy cabinet that includes European Player of the Year trophy, a Premier League medal, a FA Cup winners medal as well as three League Cup winners medals along with the Tweet: âOh, and just to remind the trolls with a short memory out there.â That then prompted his former team-mate Dietmar 'Did' Hamann to reply: âHahaha nice one mukka.â Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...rolls-photo-trophy-cabinet.html#ixzz2GokdKAhf
Whilst on Michael Owen I thought I'd share this too - http://metro.co.uk/2012/12/29/michael-owen-eyed-by-espanyol-for-shock-january-transfer-3332480/ Spanish side Espanyol are reportedly set to offer Michael Owen a surprise escape route from Stoke City during the January transfer window. The Catalan club are on the lookout for another forward in the new year, and are said to have identified Owen as a possible option, given his lack of game time since moving to Stoke. Owen has made just one appearance for Tony Pulis’s men in the league since joining them in September, and is rumoured to have developed itchy feet in the last few weeks. Espanyol would not be able to afford a whopping wage package, but Owen is known to have enjoyed his time in Spain whilst at Real Madrid, and they hope that that, along with the offer of regular minutes, could be enough to tempt the England legend into a move. According to Marca, the deal could be done as early as the first week of January.
Strange one this Waddo? If as reported Owen is not yet fit, why would any club want to take him! Would love to see Owen make a start for us soon but, sadly it looks like another that T.P. has signed and then may well lose him. IF that's the case what a waste of our Chairman's money. With regards to Twitter, anyone who uses it asks for trouble IMO.
Totally agree Potts does not make any sense whatsoever? Stoke were chasing Owen for ages too, makes you wonder just who exactly does sign these players as T.P. never seems to want to play them!
