I wouldn't be surprised if Whitts has been carrying a knock for a few weeks - less effective, not getting forward as much and appeared slower. That being the case this is the best time for him to take a break with today's game, cup next weekend, Ipswich at home and McPhail returning to fitness. With nearly 3 weeks off he should come back fighting fit for the big game v. Leicester.

what bothered me was the club mentioned the fact that Whittingham was injured, even though they mentioned the fact the other guy got sick, there was just no comment about him at all. The only place I saw him reported injured was on WOL and if he was injured on saturday why wasn't it reported than? Or maybe, and this is what bothers me, he is or is about to be sold, and so they can't play him!!!!!!!!
While I won't say it won't happen, it would seem to be completely against the grain for the club to sell Whitts. We have focused on being stronger and on increasing our depth. If we did get promoted, Whitts is only one of few who could be Prem standard. We do not have to sell him, so I can't see why they would unless the offer was astronomical. I don't think we will sell anyone Malky feels is in his first team plans.
I had a call from a mate on New Year's Eve. He had spoken to Whitt's girlfriend's brother (he already knew him as his son had bought a sofa from him) at a party and told him Whitts was out for the Birmingham game and possibly the season. The first bit came true, just hope he is wrong on the second part. Doesn't look like he is being sold but who knows?
Nice one DJR. Haven't they signed someone called Schreiber? The other players are a bit worried though and keeping an eye on their wives as they have heard he does a good job in the bedroom - and the kitchen for that matter.
