Did you see Mcmenemy in the crowd looking relaxed and just in front of him was Cortese all scrunched up like a Zurich gnome peering over the balcony. He really doesn't like watching games, does he? I remember an earlier game where the camera cut to Cortese who appeared to be praying and the crowd all burst out laughing.
Wenger is on record as saying that Arsenal were very lucky to get a point today, he has been wrong before what do you think?
We showed more ambition and, if games were decided by such things, we were the team who most deserved it.
NC may have a reputation of being a hard nosed financial orientated person, but being a Saints supporter, has the same effect on any human being, I bet he was as wrecked as I was on Saturday, I didn't feel as stressed today, but I think that is because we seemed to be in control for once.
I know Luke Shaw is only 17, so I won't over criticise, however I wish he was encouraged to keep bombing forward. He always seems to stop and check back. Thw way we play with Lallana and Ramirez/Puncheon cutting inside, our full backs MUST get forward and overlap. Shaw is a quality player and I feel he needs to improve this part of his game.
Tiss said that Shaw will go forward more as he gains experience, but he reckoned he was under instruction today. Discipline is very important in games like today...we only looked flustered for the period between their goal and half time.
I think he is told this too Fran. My comments are about his performances since being in the team, not just today. He is quality though.
Yes, he links well, but he never looks like he is going to go passed a full back and he often has chances to.
Was really exciting when he was bombing forward, and put a couple of very nice balls in. I agree though, I wish he'd do it more rather than seem tentative about it as you point out.
I think I was quality today as well...I kept my discipline and only turned off the TV for 5 min towards the end of the game. And I didn't hide under my duvet once.
I am worried that Shaw made himself more attractive to Arsene. He looked quality. We must not sell him and certainly not for a paltry £5 m
Wish I had put money on Shaw playing more then ten Prem games. I said from the start how good I thought he was, I'll say again he will be a future England lb.
What pissed me off is that the linesman didn't flag for a foul in the first half that was much nearer to him. But it was a foul.
Lawro reckoned on MOTD that the touch by Ramirez before the disallowed goal was hardly anything. Replays showed how theatrical the defender was in his dive. Still not given...move on.
