A question I am posing to myself just lately following the ongoing debacle that is Queen Park Rangers.

I was born into a QPR fanatical family.

I reside "oop north" but as a child our christmas and easter annual visits down south were always punctuated with a visit to Loftus Rd and I grew up watching the likes of Andy Sinton, David Bardsley, Les

Yes, yes you can. I grew up watching Mark Hateley and Georges Santos and I'm only occasionally suicidal. <ok>

something went wrong there, and seeing as your all now dying to know I'll attempt to continue......

I grew up watching Sir Les, wegerle, seaman in goal and although QPR weren't exactly setting the world on fire there was a good standard of football , a team to be proud of and my support and love of QPR was cemented.

Then came the wilderness years with trips to Bury, Crewe, Port Vale and various other **** grounds but my choice was made and I stuck with it through thin and thinner much to the derision of my Man U and Liverpool supporting mates.

Now I have 2 boys of my own.

They've had the baby grows declaring that like their Dad they support QPR and my eldest (who is still only 2) went to his first game game match at forest at the tender age of 8 weeks old. Photos were taken that we could proudly show him in the future where his football roots lie.

We were promoted that year and i felt relief that they would never know what it would be like to support a lower league side and could mix it with there mates in the playground where there will undoubtedly be very few, if any felllow QPR fans.

Now that is looking increasingly unlikely as we look to exit the PL with more of a whimper than a bang to maybe never return again the question i am asking is this.......

Do i saddle my 2 boys, the loves of my life with a life of football despondency, ridicule and despair or should i let them choose their own way and inevitably become Man u/city/liverpool/ whichever team next gets bought up my some arab consortium?

    Thoughts?

    (Phew! I did it!! )

It was better before you finished Congleton!...

Seriously, start them with the Rs, nothing beats father and son/s going to football and sharing the pain as well as those sublime moments we appreciate far more than Man U or other glory-hunters ever will...
