I said from the start I'd play Walcott on the right. If it would turn out a game where we counter-attack he would have been of use in that way, otherwise his crosses are better than Oxo's anyway.
Is it worth selling Sagna soon? He hasn't looked like himself, maybe the injuries are catching up? He's definitely lost a yard of pace.
Cazorla was not on it, simple as that. He was over hitting passes and never looked like finding the pass needed when he had the time. You also to give credit to Southampton's midfield three who worked and limited our influence in the midfield. Giroud hardly set the world alight when he came on, same problem as Theo, no service was coming from the midfield and the crossing from the wide areas was ****.
Yep no one else slipped that game. It's more telling that I read 10 pages of bitching with no mention of Walcott, and there is an army blaming it on a guy who played 15-20 minutes. Pathetic.
He's been crap recently and while on his day he's World Class, we have Jenkinson who deserves a chance.
Were a poor defence. Bar Stoke away we have had one of the best defensive records over the last 10 games.
Agreed Walcott would have done better if he'd had some decent service. He was feeding off of scraps today.
tell us what YOU see in him , really . Maybe we are all watching different player to you .. Because all i see , not just today in his 15 wasted minutes , but EVERY time he plays is ineptitude.. He brings NOTHING . We only have 11 player slots , why waste one .?
Only positive is we didn't lose and still got a point. 5 game Unbeaten run. Other than that it was dreadful.
I saw a lot of effort from JW and Cazorla first half, but they were set up well and Walcott was simply being Walcott. He has never been good at providing options for the guy who has the ball, can't hold off defenders, any positives he's shown have always been with plenty of space ahead of him. By the time Giroud came on Cazorla was dead and Wilshere as well. Wenger doesn't make 57 min substitute if he doesn't think something is clearly missing.
Luke Shaw did look good. But, why would they sell and why would he want to leave? He is getting games and that's what he needs for his development. Maybe a player to go and and look at in the summer transfer window.
Gervihno was bad today too. Honestly, I'd have brough Rosicky on for SJW10 and played a 4-4-2 with Rosicky as the CAM and Theo and Giroud up front
Point is there is nothing there to justify shifting the discussion to him or Ramsey. People here are just being predictable to scapegoat someone familiar, while failing to address what we got tactically wrong and with the formation.
