I've ignored him before as he is such a poor writer, with his self centered purple prose, I've never got through an article. Bet he publishes another War and Peace after Chelsea, despite not caring about the club any more. I've never heard of this bloke, despite his prizes for allegedly being the best QPR supporter, but obviously he means something to a few on this board.
Very much so. The part that says we are an unlikeable club hurts too, never thought it would come to that and if it ever did it would only be because we were winning the Premier League, Champions League, FA Cup, League Cup and so on! Much like the Vauxhall Motors debacle Liverpool was a low point, lower than the heavier defeat by Swansea. I want the club back and a massive clean out of players and Beard and Fernandes. They've ****ed us up more than the Goons managed. How in the name of god was that imaginable let alone possible? Championship? Yes please and a fresh start with young players and new owners in a league with real supporters and real football.. Hope Harry and Joe stay and we can rebuild even if it takes relegation to League One to achieve that.
This is an unusually emotional report from Clive and he preempted getting criticism for it. His writeups have become a little more erratic this season than they used to be whilst we were in the championship- presumably because this season has been so confoundingly poor. The reason he's got such a large fanbase is because he usually has the ability to accurately convey the general mood at matches. You'll frequently come home, read some of his subtle observations, and think "yes! that's exactly how i saw it". It's not really a fair criticism to say these reports are too long. If you want a brief summary, then loftforwords isn't for you. I'm glad they're the length they are, because there isn't another site that gives such an all-encompassing analysis of the match day experience each week.
Why bother coming onto the thread then and slating an article that I presume you wont have read as you've disliked "Clive-"Im great arent I?" Whittingham" for so long? Everyone plays devils advocate now and then but honestly Swords it's boring that on every thread I ever click on you're having a go at someone or something whether it's Cissé being lazy, Taarabt being too Taarabtish, another poster on here or general life. Personally I enjoy his articles a lot. I know they're going to be long so I get a new cup of tea and sit down properly for them and I thought this hit the nail on the head. I know quite a few think he's too personal in his reports but his semi-inside line on the running of the club for me shows how far the clubs come (or fallen depending on your view). He knows the club inside out and very few Rangers fans can write as well as he can. Rant over.
I usually like Clive's reports & I've met the guy a few times and he's generally ok Had to stop reading this about half way through though as it just sounds like he's bitter and pissed of because of his own personall circumstances and he didnt get a job !! He's better than this and wil prob re-read at a later date and realise how childish some of his comments sound. Not one of his better posts IMHO
Feeling positive then mate? I can't find anything to be positive about and TF and the board have been slated by all and sundrie for the way the club is being run. We are a laughing stock and I, for one bloody hate it.
Excellent article. Excellent writer. He wasn't commenting on his personal circumstances merely to vent his spleen- it's a a unique example of the attitude of the club beyond the fan-friendly Twitter face.
Obviously not feeling positive about our plight Col, but reading stuff like this isn't making me feel any better, so I'd better stop. Club is only a laughing stock to those who care, and that's us.
Don't want to get into an argument with you mate, but seriously, every time we're mentioned on TV or the radio or in the press we are either slated or laughed at. We are a complete laughing stock and the joke is on the likes of you and me who have bought season tickets and every other Rangers fan.
