We have just come through a really tough month of fixtures against clubs, who were high in the form guides at the time of playing them. Forest, Watford & Derby all possible defeats but good away wins, Huddersfield, leicester and Leeds all games where we might have been beaten but including today thats 17 pts from a possible 21, we are still 2nd and have yet to click in front of goal, we have won when playing below our abilities and with 1 or 2 additions can still step it up a level over the next 6 league games, which on paper look much easier than the last 6. automatic promotion is still there for the taking, maybe cardiff will do their usual march collapse.
I expect a lot of our rivals to lose key players in the transfer window, Zaha, whittingham, knockheart could all end up in the premier league by the end of the month, mackay might leave cardiff for a job higher up if offered,
What is there to be negative about? A point at Blackpool is a point won and at the end of the season it could be the one that takes us up.
They don't look like they're going to falter. They're griding out results even when they don't play well.
At some stage, they will be playing well and results will go against them. Seems today they were playing an injury ravaged young Brum team; they hung on against Millwall the other day, and fluked a win a Leicester the other week. What goes around comes around: their luck will turn.
Dream on guys - we've heard that crap all season. You have no idea of the fantastic new setup at Cardiff this season. Having said all that - the very best of luck to you in coming up with us - I would personally be delighted.
People keep saying we will bottle it!! Let them keep saying that to themselves... New Owners, New Management Staff and New Squad of Players this is not the Cardiff City of old! We are a completely different club including our kit Whittingham just signed a new contact extension for us to take him to 2016...turned down offers in last 3 transfer windows! So why would he then suddenly decide Togo this season when we are the strongest we have ever been while he's been at the club?! Plus we don't need the money.... Malky turned down Norwich to stay here a club that he played for as a CB for many years! He won't go he's enjoying his time here!! He's built up this team from the very foundations with only 4 players in the squad he inherited this is his team and he will see it through Just a lot of cr@p coming out of your mouths Anyways good luck for rest of the season!!!
Come on then guys - no response? Where's the "cheating having Bellamy in the side" bit? Or maybe the 10 point deduction for the pending administration jibe? Or perhaps our new owners being "foriegn" and pulling the plug anytime now. There's a few other old chestnuts for you to sling at us. We've heard them all, lived through it and come out the other side better than ever.
Have to agree with the Cardiff posters, 7 points clear at this stage is amazing, 9 clear of 3rd. I'd be very surprised indeed if they didn't get promoted now. Saying their luck will change is like saying we are going to 'hammer someone soon'. We've been saying that for so long and it's never happend, maybe there's more to it than just luck? Same with Cardiff. They aren't winning 1-0 by coincidence.
Can't see Cardiff chucking it away, their points total at this stage is fantastic and I can't see anyone over taking them at present. As long as we take the other automatic place it doesn't matter how Cardiff do, without being negative the title feels like more of a bonus.
Nice to see a couple of posters without a Cyclops complex - the rest of you better open both for a change. It aint over yet by a very long chalk, but we are building a cushion just like Soton did last year that saw them over the line despite a very bad run in their last dozen games.
I said at the start of the season Cardiff would finish top, i still believe they will. Not sure why we have a ton of Cardiff fans on here, very few if any say anything about Bellamy etc like you claim. Pretty sure most of us expect you guys to go up, just hope its us with you.
It's a very comfortable position to be in knowing that in 3 games time you will still be in the top 2 no matter what, and that every win extends that by another game. But we're slowly pulling away from the teams behind us too. It's a bit boring of me, but if I had to pick a top 2 now it would be us and yourselves in the order we're in now.
I would love the final game of the season to be a title decider only, with both us and Cardiff already promoted. I can dream can't I?
