as the year is drawing to a close, just wanted to ask what's been your favourite moments of this year, you can choose up to many as you want. Here are my 4 favourite moments of 2012 : 1. Signing RVP - When we were first linked to buying hi, i didn't believe it and i thought he would go to City but when we agreed a fee with Arsenal for him, i was shocked, i know there were rumours in the papers 24 hours before we announced the news that we had agreed everything with him but i was shocked when i found out that we were signing him, it was the first time since 2002 we signed a player from a rival but you could go back to 1992 when we signed Eric Cantona from Leeds, my thoughts on Van Persie is he's been quality for us this season, scoring cruical and important goals for us like he did in the Manchester Derby a couple of weeks ago, i'm glad we've got him and not City. 2. Beating Chelsea - Over the last 10 years, we've not had the decisions at Stamford Bridge, i remember one game against them in the 10/11 season when Zhirkov dived for a penalty but the referee decided to give it to them, when we faced them 2 months ago, we got a lot of decisions but one of their players decided to accuse a referee of being a racist which the fa looked into it and found no evidence and they charged John Obi Mikel of misconduct and was banned for 3 games. 3 Beating City - some of our fans were saying before the game they would take a draw, we're Manchester United, we don't do draws, we win games, and we did that at the Etihad stadium, when Van Persie scored that Free-kick, i like many of the United fans went mental, and that was a big win for us and so far has been crucial in us being 7 points clear at the top of the league. 4. the return of Paul Scholes - i was shocked to find out that he was coming back, he did well to keep that one quiet and the manager did well not to say anything to the media in his press conferences as well, he was vital in us keeping in touch with City, its a shame we didn't win the league but if there's one positive to come out of last season its his return.
It wasn't what you'd call a vintage year. I'm not going to celebrate one off wins against the likes of City and Chelsea and Scholes coming back was ****ing depressing!
6. Benitez being appointed as Chavs manager after he described (accurately) the Chavs fans as "fans who need plastic flags to show false passion. True fans do not need to wave little flags." This must have really hurt the plastic fans of the Chavs 7. The Chavs being dumped in humiliating fashion out of the CL. The ONLY winner not to have reached the knock out stages the following season. A disgrace to English football. 8. The first CL winner not to win the Club World Cup for many years. A disgrace to European football.
Crikey. Chelsea really got to you guys in 2012. Happy new year anyway and good luck (in Europe at least) with the rest of the season
no we don't, i see a Chelsea fan is more obsessed about United than their own club's failure to keep a manager no longer for 6 months.
This. 2012 was one of our worst years for a while, tho' we are at least finishing it on a high. Let's not do the Liverpool thing of celebrating meaningless victories and the failings of our rivals as if they make up for a disappointing season.
Hey Chavminor, you spend a ludicrous amount of time on the United board. Assuming you also spend as much time on the Arsenal, Spurs, Fulham and West Ham boards, how do you squeeze any Chelsea chat into what is no doubt a very busy and fulfilling life?
