They are in such a state, I don't know how they are going to be able to attract anyone who's really going to make the difference, knowing that in 6 months time they could be in the championship. here's the latest from talkshite http://www.talksport.co.uk/sports-n...31/spurs-set-battle-over-roma-striker-188304?
Is anybody running a sweepstake on how many minutes 'Arry Twitch will be on TV during this January transfer window? Surely shots of him leaning out his car window are odds on
please log in to view this image Triffic. Not keen on the twitch stuff, though. He picked that up in an accident that killed some people and he did a good job for us. Not a fan of some aspects of his behaviour, but I have a lot of respect for his time in charge of the club.
oh I don't mean anything by it, just the same as Spurs fans used to sing the coach trip song to Adebayor. he did a lot, but he did piss me off a lot as well, genuinely thought he was bigger than the club at points
If M'Vila really is available for £7.5m (which I severely doubt), him - Andre identified him as a key target in the summer, after all. However, we'd need to shuffle the midfield pack for this, with Sandro and M'Vila in the engine room and Dembele pushed up behind the lone striker...which sounds more like what happens when I get a windfall on FM and blow a large chunk of it on a player I don't really need (Muniain, usually...) Eriksen will be difficult as Ajax hate selling in January (which would also rule out Alderweireld), so again we're stuck. £15m would bring in Remy, and by now Leandro must be wondering how he hasn't moved to Europe so a deal can be thrashed out there - but if that was the case, we'd probably have to cede ground to Internacional in regards to fees instead of dictating terms. Frankly, I'd like to have one deal sorted out in January for the end of the season, and that takes us back to the two Ajax players. If we could sort out a combined £25m deal for Eriksen and Alderweireld to arrive in June, we'd have two key summer signings taken care of but also a transfer pot to carry us through to the end of the season.
I had never heard of M'Vila when we were first linked with him. I did the customary thing of looking him up, watching YouTube links etc, looked good. Moutinho is obviously a talent. What does everybody think of getting David Villa?
What the forum did? Wow that is power. (Joke btw) Is he a possible signing do we think? That would be great in my book
Sounds unlikely to me. £16m for a player of his age and a wage of over £100k pw? Can't see Levy going for it.
Media reports suggest that both Liverpool and Arsenal enquired about one and were told to pay up or piss off, basically. We're being heavily linked with the same players that we were after in the summer, rather unsurprisingly. Damiao and Moutinho, plus smaller mumbles about a few others. Can see it being another frustrating one.
Assuming we don't spend much, we could use a decent backup for Walker, and (though this could be more expensive) a good backup for Dembele. Our record with Dembele out has been crap, while with him in we've been unbeaten, I think. (The two Everton goals happened after he'd been subbed.) Ideal would be a quality playmaker with only a year or two left at top level. I'm not sure I'd want to spend a lot, because there there's a nice, delicate balance between players and time on the field right now. The three non-starters good enough to start (Parker, Gylfi and Dempsey) can sub. I'd still love to have Moutinho, though, since he could potentially help two weak areas: playmaker and CAM.
Barca have stated they will only consider a permanent move for Villa. Also heard murmurings about Zaha from Palace. And this from Sky transfer watch: "It wouldn't be a transfer window without Harry Redknapp speaking to Sky Sports News from his car window. We didn't want to disappoint you - even on January 1"
Any rumbles on Isco? He looks a great talent but I think Malaga will be very reluctant to sell considering that they lost Cazorla over the summer as well. We've been linked to Lewis Holtby (by the Fail...) and he's supposed to be alright, got a lot of press when Arsenal played Schalke but how much of that was due to his quality and how much of it was due to him being dual national English and German and him choosing to play for Germany I'm not sure! Eriksen or Moutinho would be dream signings but I don't think we'd get either unfortunately, not in January. I really hope we sign a creative midfielder, more so than a striker or anything else. But thats just me I guess.
