Wigan QPR Reading I think there's plenty of teams that might think they're out of the relegation scrap who could be dragged back into it though.
For me the obvious are Reading and QPR (no matter what Arry does) Then it could be one of many, Villa, Newcastle, Wigan etc. One from higher up normally in top half pre Christmas capitulate and end up amongst it, so maybe West Brom or Norwich could suffer. Villa need to change boss, Lambert just hasnt worked for them, but I don't think they will do it in time so for me its Reading, QPR and Villa, probably in that order (ascending)
West Brom? surely not eyz, they only need about 7 points and their "safe"! I hope reading stay up. not cause their a local club for me, but I actually think they've been really unlucky this season. if they can bring in a solid defender, a midfielder and maybe a striker on loan, i think they'll stay up as they are playing pretty well. they just need that little bit more quality. QPR are much more of a mess than reading, and despite potential January investment i don't think harry's got the time to bed in the new players. - he's still sorting out hughes' pathetic managerial effort. Villa currently look by far the worst club in the league, IMO. Totally clueless, no confidence and plummeting down the table. If reading and QPR can go on a run in/after January, I can see Villa finishing bottom. - The Norwich fans will love that!
Mate, no I don't think WBA will go down. Just using them to illustrate that clubs towards the top 6 pre christmas, one often ends up in the mix at the brown end of the league. Maybe thats Newcastle this season, who fell a little sooner. But WBA or Norwich could have an awful second half, it has happened before
Villa Reading QPR Qpr and Reading need 25 -27 points in the second half of season can't see that happening ,whatever about the Chelsea and Spurs results its the performance against Wigan which shows how much trouble they are in.Southampton can score goals and Wigan will pull it out of the fire as normal ,as said above though somebody normally sinks like a stone in the second half of season points wise Norwich looks like the cut-off point with 25 could be them prefer West Ham though !!
ahh I get ya! Yeah, totally agree, Newcastle are that club this season. West Ham could also find themselves down there, despite a good start.
Yeah, can't disagree. My feeling is that QPR & Reading are pretty much nailed on. One of Villa, Wigan, or Southampton to follow. It will be Villa if they maintain current form. Much could depend on who does what in the transfer window.
The thing is there is just no reaction to anything at Villa or QPR which is worrying p. Villa have been on a downward spiral ever since Lerner curbed spending and decided to get back every penny he'd spent before selling up. When you lose 8-0 you expect a reaction, if not next game the one after that simply hasn't happened. Villa have a young squad and are in terminal decline, their relegation is more inevitable than even Reading's. Similarly at QPR they've overseen a change in manager which has triggered no reaction. QPR is more worrying than Villa because unlike the latter it isn't a lack of quality that is costing them it's a lack of effort, belief and passion. The Villa kids can be excused because they will at least bust a gut in every game, if you can't match the work rate of the opposition you won't win any game which is where I worry for QPR, not to mention their monumental fixture list from now - late Feb. Reading and Villa at least have winnable home games.
I think that you did a lot of damage to Villa's psychology which was then compounded by us, DL. Had they faced an easier opponent following your pasting, then they might have recovered somewhat. As it was, they ended up reenacting the Alamo twice in quick succession and Wigan took full advantage.
I know its bad of me and I need to take a good hard look at myself. OK done that, yeah I still hope its Hammers going down and its just a bonus that Big Sam will be there as well. For me the Brady Lady is a horrible lass so would be good to see her get relegated (I was very careful not to say go down)
I agree PNP and I you'd have to fear the same for QPR who also face Chelsea away and Spurs at home in quick succession. They need a positive result.
If he did that he wouldn't have bought Bent for all that money. The trouble was that in order to keep their best players they were paying them wages that bigger clubs weren't prepared to offer them at the time. Without any CL football they were paying wages of about £80mill a year, when we got CL football we were paying £60mill. Lerner realised that there wasn't much point trying to compete financially and O'Neill cried about it rather than getting on with his job. Look at what Redknapp had, he was never given the £40mill of CL money, he understood why and did the best with what we did buy.
QPR, Reading and Villa - which I am strangely happy about, no real reason I just don't like them at all
Never liked them either, especially when they had O'Neill who I don't like. I do like Lambert though and hope he does well for them and I also have more respect for the club and what they're trying to build since Lerner stopped backrolling them.
