Ba has 13 he is worth 7.5 million
Michu has 13 he is not worth 12 million maybe the same as Ba (and he scored 17 last season in Spain)
Fletcher has 8 how can he be worth 12 million?.

Rose tinted specs by the looks of it.

Ba would cost a damn site more than £7.5million if it weren't for the clause in his contract.

Michu is on a tiny wage, which reduces his value, but would you say he's not worth £12million? His goals per game ratio over 2 seasons suggests otherwise to me, better than 1 in 2.

I could throw in Andy Carroll for £35m if you want to be silly about it, or Torres for £50m? Who would you rather have out of Fletcher, Carroll or Torres for their repsective costs per goal? £12m for a return of 8 goals in the 16 games he has started is spopt on for me.

I could just say that a 25 year old with double figure goals in 3 consecutive EPL seasons (in struggling teams) is good value at £12m imo. If we could find another one the exact same I'd snap your hands off. Fletcher, if he stays fit, will get 15/18 goals this season for us imo.

You beat me to it. Ba wold be worth closer to £20m without the clause but the clause is only there as he went on a free. Michu has gone under everyones radar but I will bet you anything you like if he rattles in 18/20 goals this season he will be in the £15m + bracket not the £2m or £3m.

If Ba has 13 goals and is worth £7.5m then by your reckoning Van Persie is worth £9.8, don't think so mate.

If he was so good he would not have got relegated 2 times in 3 years, RVP can win Man U the League and CL hence why they paid the cash for him, he also scored 37 goals in 48 games the year before so he is worth what they paid for him, Fletcher just isnt and imho never will be.

Just becaue he plays for us dosnt mean i have to **** over him i never did when he was at Burnley neither when he was at Wolves so why should I change my mind now. Sorry if i am not towing the line, but tough **** really.

I'm afraid Steve has what is commonly known as a bad case of up ****-creek-itis having bailed out the oars.

He made little effort to hide the fact h didn't want Fletcher in the first place and has nowhere to go now he has been proved wrong.

Only the most stubborn fool would argue against Fletcher's worth now.

Maybe Steve would like to suggest a better alternative?

Fletcher, just like any other player, is worth whatever someone is prepared to pay for him based on the buyers own valuations. Personally I agree with MON and think he is worth the money, there's not many strikers around that can get you 15+ goals a season and without those 15+ goals we'd be right up **** creek right now and facing almost certain relegation.

Bearing that in mind Steve, the club would immediately lose £35m in TV revenue come the end of the season. Not theory, not hearsay, not guesswork, FACT, and that's just for starters. Crowds would drop, income from merchandise would drop, the club would ****ing plummet into financial chaos.

So Steve, my question to you is this. If Fletchers goal tally this season keeps us in the EPL, how much IS he worth? in your opinion.
