I'd call that a more than acceptable replacement for Sturridge... and by the sound of it not a penny more!
If it comes off you've got yourself a great striker. I'm hoping he goes because this contract thing is beginning to piss us all off here at Newcastle. The sooner it's sorted the better. He's a strong striker that can be used as a target man, and can also finish very well and has a good touch on the ground.
I'd love him, reminds me of Drogba in many ways but without the pace, but his positioning and reading of the game makes up for it.
7.5mill for the player, but millions more his 'representatives'. Good luck in fending off the attempts of his brothers to sell him to another money-rich club in a year or so!
Would be a good buy. Where would this leave Torres? On the bench? Ba is better than him so I hope he gets dropped.
Torres is at the moment no worse of than he was with Sturridge as his shadow! If Ba becomes that good he steals his place then fine! If not Torres continues to perform under Rafa, then even better!
Do you think Torres will perform better with more competition to his place, he certainly didn't when he was up against Drogba, I would love it for him to come good but how long can we wait? Funny we get Liverpool's main player and it seems to fail, we get their cast off manager and it seems to be working.
Okey... I'm all for whats best for CFC! Nice to see Ba on board, but Torres is starting to look better under Rafa! Let them compete!
Torres had a good game today, his channel running led to both goals, and yes the cracking ball from Luiz should have been finished off but Torres contributed towards victory. Ba will have to earn his stripes too
Ok mate I'm not going to argue with you, and I too want the best for our club, lets see what transpires over the next month or so, but I fear even Benitez will come to the opinion that Torres is not going to get back to the level he once was on. Carefree my fellow blue.
Spot on, Torres is all about midfield delivery, which he gets from Luiz, hence the increase in goals scored. It's midfield we need to strengthen, as Luiz is our best by far, but can't do it all alone.
Looks like this move is off. Ba (or his representatives) are demanding more thn the 70k p/week (almost double his existing wages) which we're offering! Can't see Arsenal paying more either. QPR?
If it is off and if it is down to the sort of figures being bandied about then he can **** right off. He looks useful, he isn't world class and never will be imo. Useful to have but not essential player. If the club kick back against his (alleged) demands then good for them. From what I here he gets £2.5m from the £7.5m release clause for himself. He wants to go from £35k a week to £100+k a week and his agent (brother) wants £2m. If true what drugs are these greedey *astards on?
