Mate see response in the thread I started. Always supported Spurs. I actually saw Spurs first game I ever saw, play Bristol Rovers, think they won like 8-0 or more. Never strayed since, apart from also support home town Bristol Rovers
Yeah I get you and do agree to a certain extent. Sadly I would rather invest in a player that will make an impact and help move us up a gear now, rather than back-up (although that is needed). Creative midfielder is a priority in that regard for me. Not convinced by Naughton at all. Rose for me still isn't a left back and I worry when he is in that position.
It looks like Carlo has completed his move to the Galaxy. - Various reports are not suggesting that's the case. Best of luck to him. Always been a huge fan and he is one of the best keepers the prem has ever seen, IMO.
Apparently a German paper reckons we're favourites to sign Lewis Holtby. Sounds like a good signing, he's a good passing midfielder and his contract runs out in the summer so he shouldn't be too expensive.
god knows what's happening with him. There was talk of him joining a side in Brazil, but it fell down over his wages, IIRC. I really hope we shift some of this deadwood though. the amount of money we've wasted each week on wages over the last few years has been horrendous.
Did anybody see this on BBC, looking at whether spending in Jan is worthwhile? http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20793698 They asked Comolli, brilliant his transfer record is first class
Completely agree, loads hanging around Jenas and Bentley must be on a fortune too. I doubt Bostock is on pennies based on the reputation we bought
Can you shed some more light on him YV? I'm trying to work out where he'd fit in or how he'd improve us.
Bostock is at Swindon and doing alright down there I think. Hopefully Bentley will permanently move to Russia! there can't be much deadwood left now, is there? 3 or 4?
A few tweets now suggesting that a fee has been agreed for Moutinho and we're just sorting out the payment terms. apparently it could be sorted as early as this week. (what??!! not Jan 31st??!!) I've been through those who I follow on twitter and have now got what I believe to be quite reliable people. I'd be surprised if this is bullshit. please don't shoot the messenger.
please log in to view this image Good luck to Cudicini, if his move does go through. Chelsea might wish that they were taking him back if Cech's injury lasts. Far better than Turnbull. Holtby's a pretty impressive young attacking midfielder, from what I've seen of him. I thought he was on his way to the Goons, though? Impressed against them in the CL, if I remember right. He's an Evertonian. English soldier from Liverpool as a dad and a German mother.
Also wouldn't say no to Liverpool, although it might annoy his dad. - wikipedia's useful isn't it PNP?
Right, let's list everything wrong with this story, shall we? M'VILA: Valued at £15m in the summer when Spurs and Arsenal were in for him, now valued at £7.5m when QPR are in for him? Quite simply bollocks. Also, if Spurs and Arsenal were in for him at £15m in the summer, they'd be in for him at half the price in January - and actually appeal to him. REMY: Newcastle have been told he won't go for less than £15m - not the £10m they offered - and which club appeals more, a Europa League team with a lot of French prospects, or West London's third team in the midst of a relegation battle? DIAME: There is a £3.5m release clause in his contract, so this could happen - if he wants to move, that is. Also, given harry's public complaining about wages, Diame doubled his wages to move to West Ham, so he sounds as mercenary as the players he's spent several weeks slagging off then wondering why they showed so little enthusiasm to play for him yesterday.
I actually knew that stuff from the time that he was being touted for a switch to England, Roo. (<Wanted to use that for ages!) There was some **** in the papers about him being eligible for the national side and nobody asking him or something. Then the Goons were linked with him.
Looks like Adam Smith might be taking a step up to the Premier League on loan. “There are a couple of Premier League clubs interested [in Smith],” Villas-Boas said. “We are assessing if it’s a real possibility to give a different challenge to the player. “We respect Millwall for the fact that they’ve taken him on board. “We’ll have to make a good decision on that one.” Villas-Boas has been delighted with the way Smith has performed at The Den. “[He has been] extremely good,” he added. “Everybody is happy with what he is doing.” I can think of a number of teams that could do with someone like him. I've heard very good things from Millwall fans about him. MOTM performances from a full-back.
