In the lowly reaches of the Championship, my fellow Bristol City supporters and i have been engaged in that timeless waste of time called pick an alltime best 11 Bristol City side.
When the conversation swivels to this one i inevitably wonder what an alltime United side would look like.
    And my number one question for you folks is;
Would yours include a certain Wayne Rooney ?

    I would go

    Schmiechel

    Neville
    Vidic
    Stam
    Irwin

    Best
    Keane
    Scholes
    Ronaldo

    Cantona
    Van Nistlerooy

MY All time United best would probably not include Rooney. However, may include him in the best 11 united PREMIERSHIP players.

Interesting. Here's what you could have won if you'd remembered...

Bobby Charlton - at his peak a far superior player to Scholes
Nobby Styles - a toss-up between him and Keane for Midfield Animal
Duncan Edwards - cant believe you left him out
Patrice Evra - well you're probably a better judge on that one

Not old enough to remember the 1950s and 60s teams, that's why I left most of them out.*

Evra did have a few excellent seasons for us, and he was one of the best around. Though in the last couple of seasons he's become a liability defensively. Yes he's great going forward, but I just feel Irwin was a better defender.*
