OK... so Demba will be on his way to take the rouble from Roman and sit on the bench.

    What happens next?

Some have mentioned playing Cisse as the front man and Benni + another playing off him.... others feel Remi will be that third man in a 4-3-3.

Looking at all the rumours recently who do you think or even hope we will get in as a replacement?

Not being funny, but Obertan has showed in recent games that he's more than capable down the left flank.

I'd like to see Remi come in and our formation look like this:

    ---------Cisse

    ------Remi----- HBA

    Bigi------Cabaye------Tiote

    Santon--Douglas--Colo--Debuchy

The above will pretty much guarantee a strong second half to the season and sort out our defensive issues too.
A solid core will deliver a platform for our forwards to push on.

The blindly optimistic view would be that the only thing that has kept Cisse from being the player he was last season was diffiuclyt playinbg with Ba. On that basis, we have not really lost a 25 goal a year striker because we have one that is just waiting for Ba's departure to kick into action.

Wish I could really believe it.

If it is half true, though, and we were to get a very good attacking winger (Loic Remy, so I'm told) then we could have a 4 - 3 -3 post Ba that is as good as it was pre-Ba. Cisse almost replaces Ba as the central striker, the new signing more than replaces Cisse as the right side of the 4 - 3 - 3: HBA - Cisse - Remy.

    or we could be ****ed.

God I hope its Remy, our front 4 of Cisse, HBA, Remy and Cabs would be very tasty and much more fluent and mobile than when Ba and Cisse were running into each other.

Alternatively we will prob rely on Shola to stroll around the pitch at his leisurely pace pretending to look interested.

Good substitutes for our fist string (marveau in paritcular) but I would really like someone else of HBA's class

It was originally quoted that Remy would be available for £10 million, however, there are now reports that his club want nearer £15 million for him.
The more it looks like Ba will leave or worst still be confirmed, the higher the price for Remy, and for that reason l am beginning to doubt we will sign him, once the greed sets in we will hit stalemate again.
More likely we will sign a CB and then have to rely on Shola and pray for a Cisse resurgence.
What would be ironic is to strengthen the defense and end up with no one who can score us a goal.

I want us to deploy Cisse in the central role and replace Cisse on the right with Wilfred Zaha. OM are known to want 15m euros for Loic Remy despite his contract is hardly leaning towards their favor and also AC Milan are keen on him.

Aubemyang would be a better signing than Remy. Remy is injury prone. Aubemyang on the left, Benny on the right, Cisse through the middle.

    What about this -

    -----------Cisse------------

    Remy-------Cabaye------Ben Arfa

    ------Tiote---------Anita----------

    Santon----Colo----Douglas----Debuchy

    --------------Krul------------------

Sorry but that team is far to good to go down, and once we get our **** sorted out, we should be pushing for Europe again next season.

Demba Ba is a greedy mercenary who can fec off with my blessing. No player, including him, is bigger that the club. If he has no loyalty towards us, he is a player I will mercilessly give grief to at every opportunity. I hate people like that. If he goes to Chelsea, I hope is knee gives way. <ok>

If we do lose Ba and bring in Remy, it should do us until the summer. Then perhaps try and get Carroll through the door?

Yesterday Obertan looked like an old fashioned winger.

@23nsg: Marseille forums saying 12m plus Marveaux for Remy is the deal on the table. Would be very disappointed if that has truth in it. I'd say not

Would't want to see Marv go..
